04/04 -D31 is Showing Beak-Pip in Egg#3-May get Bonked out by siblings

Egg #3, D31, has finally pipped.
And judging from the size of that hole, could be here today, I predict.
Beak is exposed.

Siblings D29 & D30 may actually bonk him free, lol!

:loveshow: After just watching the Northeast Florida eaglets, it is hard to imagine they were this tiny just a short time ago.

What a white wonderland for the D's. I imagine that they must be wondering, " what on earth? What's all this cold stuff? lol! D29 gets most of the food this time and looks like a bite got stuck in it's throat. Dad kinda looked panicked for a moment but D got it down and went for more. Crop is so full, D29 can barely stay upright. Dad tries to get them all back underneath him before they get too cold and wet. He moves some of the wet grass out of the bowl. How many April Fool's Day are there in April? Thanks for watching!

Dad is missing
Raptor Resource Project

I am truly sorry to tell everyone this. Following our boots on the ground observations today, we are pretty comfortable saying that UME is not Dad Decorah. As watchers know, he has not behaved as we would expect Dad to behave - he hasn't given Mom a break or come down to feed the eaglets. While we truly wish we could tell you this was Dad, we no longer believe it is. Mom was observed perching near unidentified male eagle (UME) and flying with him earlier today, and he doesn't appear to represent a threat to the eaglets. D29, D30, and D31 have spent the day lazing and stuffing themselves in the nest, and seem to be enjoying the sunny, warm weather.

We will continue to observe the eagles tomorrow and will launch a wider search for Dad. Thank you for your understanding and your support during a pretty tough period for all of us.
This goes to the FB page if you want to keep up on this sad story
