I am just numb. After such a long wait. :tissue: :tissue: :tissue:

and I am really disappointed with BRI. One day , they be will sorry that they did not care enough to help out here. and then it will be too late.

I just cannot get my head around this tragedy.

he seems to be thriving. It is raining there but I peeked in and he looks great.

Maybe there was not enough food and this was natures way.

although we can loose baby falcons due to not enough food, at least they do not peck each other to point of death. Each species is different, and so sometimes hard to watch. I choose not to watch at times.

Things continue to be very odd here. Mom seems to have deserted her chick. Dad brings in fish, Eden grabs it and mantles it ... Dad takes off ... but then Mom never shows up to feed Eden. :gaaaaah:

I have seen reports on site of adults coming in. All I can think of is, food is not plentiful after storms or one of eagles is missing

The final consensus on WOW was that the adult that fed Eden on Thursday night was the female. I'm not totally convinced. The past couple days have been hard to watch with cam problems. An adult was seen a few times today but no feedings confirmed. They got storms later in the day today and Eden was heard peeping around 8:30 P.M.

I am being positive here.

Eden does look O.K. when I have seen her shots , so I hope the bit of food brought in is enough to sustain here. at least she has not been deserted.

One adult can look after her and fledge her.

but I will never support the BRI organization again, financially.

I realize a lot of raptors are not endangered in some areas anymore but complacency is not an option in my book.

There are more and more cams I cannot watch and one day , I hope not, it may be mine.

I'm sorry I haven't had time to post much. I was away for a few days camping.

Eden is doing better and the adults have been bringing in more food. AND, the female has stayed and fed her a few times. :)

Eden 'sort of' fledged on the 18th. It's up for debate! :teehee: I think she just kind of 'dropped' down a few branches. She did make it back to the nest ... but now the cam isn't working right. Sound, but no picture.

A parent came in with food and the Juvie was right there. Juvie almost knocked parent off nest.
Edited version as the Juvie stays on the nest too long.

Update from Lavender at RRP forum
Update Nest Maine/Effects of Hurricane Sandy
This nest is a very active nest recently doing restoration but today they are getting very heavy wind and weather reports are that they will get 60 mph wind gusts. The cam is still operating and the Eagles are there working away in the wind. Landings are a little rough.
Eden has been verified still in the area and seen by ground spotters flying with parent. Has stayed away from the nest but on the limbs in area.
Will monitor for up-dates on storm and safety of nest.
Lavender

I had the cam up for a few, kept missing the Eagle(s) of course . . .
This tree and nest have seen a few huge storms before, let's hope it can survive this one as well.
