Gorgeous photographs -- just love them.

Would someone remind me of who is "Ranger"??? and why did SW get a new beau so quickly??

Joanne, Ranger had already made his appearance before Buckeye died. I suspect Buckeye might have been trying to chase him off when he collided with a building (or something). :(

Since there was confusion about who Ranger is, I brought this quote over from the 2009 topic from Kim in Italy:

Kim in Italy wrote:
Yes, I too think it's Ranger B/92 from Eastlake, born in 2008.
But it's time to watch at his beautiful face more than at his bands now.
Lovely shy eyes, he isn't used to people.. Well, he needs time.

Many pics by Scott on the Cleve forum. :okleaves:

Yes, that's all we can know about. Buckeye probably has been challenged and nobody witnessed his last battles.
SW knows. And she probably didn'nt have such a pain we felt, as you all know, they feel different.
Ranger is our hope now. I persnally can't really love him yet, just would like he's the right male for my gal.
I think she knows what she needs. So trust her. It's the best I can tell.
You can find all at the CMNH forum, thread "Remembering Buckeye 1996 - 2009".
Buckeye left us on November 17th.
And we'll never forget him.

I am just now reading your post here Kim and I could not have said this any better - your words are so true - my heart cries for Buckeye - I have his picture on my office cabinet looking down on me - what he went through before he died trying to protect his territory from a newcomer. I will really miss him!

Thanks from me, too! I noted that SW has a helmet & Ranger doesn't--maybe I can use that to identify which one I'm seeing. :thanku

Great shots.

It is always hard to get used to a new falcon when you have grown to love the residents. but we know this is natures way.
I hope I can say this when my time comes again.

Here is to a great year .

Hi bev.!
I absolutely agree. We are losing so many tiercels after Kaver..
Well, we'll try when our time comes. Maybe our falcons did teach us many things about life and death.

Hope too for a great year here.
