Can you imagine all this great news because of a BANANA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Bananas to Bats: The Science Behind the First Bats Successfully Treated for White-Nose Syndrome

Last week, 75 bats successfully treated for white-nose syndrome were released back into the wild in Missouri – rare good news in what has become one of the gloomiest wildlife stories in North America.

Federal scientists in Ashland, Ore., use cutting-edge technology to help track down animal killers

This is so interesting on how they will find the cause of death with the 13 Bald Eagles found back in Feb.

I was fortunate to participate in returning one of the American Eagle Foundation fledglings to them last week. As I have been told, P7 came down in a nearby park apparently trying to land a meal. She went under and got soaking wet. Once she made her way to the shore she made no attempt to fly and the group I volunteer for was called. She was easily captured and had no injuries. Since she was banded we were able to track her down to one of the Pigeon Forge nests managed by the American Eagle Foundation. I do not know her complete history, but I do know that she was recently hacked along with other juvenile eagles. Rather than release her, AEF requested her return to them so they could examine her and let her have a do-over. I was more than excited to drive to Tennessee on Friday and be a part of her journey.

Here she is several days before her return:
