Nice catches, Beth!

Alma was online last year, but most of the time all you could see was some cliffs. At some point, they were able to focus the cam better & you could see a nestbox nestled in the cliffs, but it was still too far away to see the birds. I think they also have a nestbox that isn't in the cliffs, so this could be it.

Nice catch to get a video of them bonding, Coriena--thank you! I'm hoping that since they have a decent box this year, they will have more than one chick hatch. Of course, if they're all as feisty as the one chick last year, Mom will have her talons full!

Hey Kitten, regarding Alma--do you have any idea whether that is the "regular" nestbox as opposed to the one in the cliffs where they nested last year? If you happen to hear during your "travels", could you let us know? I looked at any sites that I thought might have that info, but couldn't find anything about it. Thanks!

You know I'm not sure I'll try and see if I can get hold of Amy and find out about it
I'll let you know as soon as I hear anything

I got an email from amy about Alma here it is
so I guess this is the plant box then lets hope they come here this
year so we can at least see them
That is an interesting site. Sometimes they nest on 12-mile bluff, which is right
behind the plant, and sometimes they nest on the stack box. We never know
which one they are going to pick - sometimes not until they do pick.
They nested on the cliff last year, and on the stack the year before that.

The cliff is an interesting spot - they nest in a little eyrie that is very low,
and not far under a huge ledge. I'd say it is a 100-foot drop, easy.
The eyrie seems somewhat shallow, but they've been quite successful there.
Amy
