Half way home and I log on to find two beautiful juvenile falcons preening on the ledge. It took some time but they finally showed me their bands. :-)

form Paula this morning.
Logged on early this morning - 6:15am. Found two juveniles on the ledge. One was Naji and I believe the other was Annikah. First Annikah flew off and awhile later I saw Naji fly. Then I saw flying around the south end of the building and all three landed on the ledge! I barely got the cam on them and started video before they all flew off again. I did see them flying in the distance again and it appeared they all headed towards the roof. Falcon fun and games this morning! :-)

Hi all,

A couple of days ago we began to notice a different bird at the nest ledge. Upon further close inspection today it became obvious that we have a new pair residing on City Hall. At this time we have no idea what occurred or why Clara and Fernando would have given up their territory but we're sure she never gave it up without an altercation of some sort. All we know is that we have a new pair and that one of them happens to be a banded bird as well. We are trying to read the band to determine the origin of the bird but it's been a difficult task since that bird is always on the louver.

I'm sure many of you have questions and so do we. The fact is that these things occur in the wild and we have been very lucky to have Clara on City Hall for all these years. We knew she is getting up in years and a change would happen some day. Now it has and it's anyone's guess what happens next. We have many months before the next nesting season and we'll just have to wait and see what occurs.

Clara (and Fernando) gave us such a successful season this year. It was very special and we need to remember all the years she provided the skies with her offspring, helping to repopulate the peregrine recovery program.

Once again we're part of an educational experience with these birds. We'll keep you all informed as things occur and as there are things to report. Hang in there for the next chapter!

Thanks, Bev. I came here to post that.

There was a question concerning the juvies and whether they would be OK. The last anybody had seen the juvies was on 6/3. They're going to go with the parents and continue with their training. (Too bad they couldn't gang up on the newcomers and send them packing.)

I can put whole message here but two were down there with their cameras and it i s anew Female and Fernando( form Glenn)
so Clara is missing

she is a great female and in my heart I know she has just moved on , due to stronger female. probably an altercation, but due to her age, I will be optimistic until otherwise told.
she gave us so many chicks and this year she gave us 3 wonderful juveniles.

Thanks, Bev. Well, we all get to the point where we can't go anymore. Hope Clara enjoys her retirement.

My dear Clara. I will hate never seeing her again. At least she won't have to watch her babies die on the ledge when they could be rescued, which is why I had to quit watching the cam. I do hope that her little chicks will stay safe. It will be up to her I guess to make sure they are prepared as FC will most likely be trying to win the new female over. This is all based on her still being alive . I will surely miss her. I wish her and FC all the best. The new female will appreciate FC as a mate, after all, Clara did train him.
:egg15:

Will miss you Clara.
