so far so good here. Fledge watch is over officially but some still checking

this is from Paula. a nice video
Hi all, I hope you enjoy this video. Huge thanks to Craig Ow for his contributions of the video and photos but also to John Lewis who pulls it all together and makes it look so good and fun. Make sure to turn up your volume so you can hear the interactions between the BOG to let the others know what is going on since we can't all see the birds movements. We have such a wonderful crew and I'm so happy to be a part of it. Enjoy!

all 4 are still being seen
this was craigs report

Got downtown around 8PM. One of the adults is on the top ledge of the south side of the AT&T building. I drive around the area on the west side of the Fairmont and don't see anyone else. So I park on San Fernando between 1st and 2nd. I see two juives on the southeast corner of the Fairmont annex. By the time I get over there they've flown off. I see a peregrine on the southeast gutter edge of the Fairmont. It takes off heading to the southwest. I believe it is an adult. I walk west between the annex and the hotel and when I come out the other side, a peregrine is pulling up from the southeast toward the top of a tree (where they hold Christmas in the Park) but it doesn't land. It heads east and I lose it as it passes over the roof of the annex. I head south and when I've passed the annex, I spot two juvies playing in the sky. They disappear heading east skimming over the Federal Courthouse shade structure. I head north on 1st and I spot a lone juvie sitting on the south roof edge of the Camera 12 building, in the middle. It takes off when I'm distracted by a loud scrapping sound near me so unfortunately I don't get a chance to see a band color. I continue north then head east through the parking lo between 2nd and 3rd. A juvie comes in from the west over the lot which is on the south side of the 88 and it disappears heading toward city hall. I head back west so I can get a look at CH but don't see any peregrines. I continue east and when I get to 3rd street, I look back at the annex and a juvie is on the southeast corner of the annex. Nope, I'm not heading back over there. So I continue north up to San Fernando, then west to go back to my car. When I get to my car, the juvie on the annex is gone.

I move my car to San Fernando near Mercury's tree as it's around 8:35PM now. I watch the south side of CH from my car. I begin to start my car to move it to Fifth street when I see a juvie flying up to try to land in one of the palm trees on 6th street. That doesn't work and it peels off and I see it passing in front of the south side of CH, heading southwest. I sit for a little bit and then a juvie comes in from over the campus at 6th street, and I lose it as it heads north toward CH over the houses. I finally move my car to Fifth street. It's 8:45PM and I spot a juvie on the east edge of the louver between the 15th and 14th floors. It's one with the solid green behind it. Looks like one of the boys.

Around 8:50PM I spot a juvie flying over Fifth street in a southwest direction. I take another scan of the louvers (getting difficult to see even with the almost full moon - part of the problem is a bright light on Fifth). Another juvie has landed on the top louver. It eventually makes it way to the king of the hill spot on the west end.

Around 8:57 I happen to check the lower juvie and there's another one on the same louver. But it doesn't stay long and takes off. I look up to the top louver and it's landed up there next to it's brother. I think it's Yomele.

Finally around 9:02PM, it looks like maybe the fourth one has come in to the top louver but I can't be sure. I get ouf of the car to avoid the bright lights but still can't tell. So I drive back to Mercury's tree and can tell that indeed the last one has come in. It's around 9:08PM.

XY_X on the top louver and
_____________X on that lower louver.

As I depart, the boom of fireworks begin to resonate in the downtown area. When I came in tonight, the hillside just to the south of hwy 280 was on fire. I could smell the smoke all the way down by my place in south San Jose when I headed off to come downtown.

Have a safe holiday,
Craig

Isn’t the new cam system great. Everything should be fully functional by nesting time. It is still in test stage .
