Another 10 second bonding session in box (if 10 seconds, could have been faster).

B had been on beam outside box calling for DC. She finally took off. About 1 minute later, DC lands on perch on cam 4 (pole). He proceeds to NB. B arrives a few seconds later. About a 10 second chupfest. DC leaves. B is in box.

DC waiting for B:

Screen shot right before DC was going to leave on left & him flying away on right side. My cams are not synched, so that's why the different pictures. I could barely get the snipping tool open fast enough to get the shot.

Another bonding session in the box. This one lasted a little longer. B arrived first on deck, then DC. He proceeded to NB, where B joined him.

Another bonding session....

DC didn't make it into the box this time, but was on the beam in front. Both were chupping.

I don't know why, but something in my gut tells me Beauty is holding off for now. Even though she seemed to be spending more time at the box today and was practicing her egg laying posture! Here's why I think that about B - DC just started entering the box. He has been around for mating, but has not really bonded with her in the box until this past Saturday. Today, he entered several times. Those visits were VERY fast. I realize that there appears to be a "bonding" behavior when with B and Pigott. From reports, when he bonds with Pigott in the scrape, he spends some time (doesn't sound to be just seconds) with her. I think he still needs to prove to Beauty that he will be a provider and available. Just my 2 cents.

Carol did report DC & B were flying/tandem hunting together this afternoon. That must have been wonderful to see.

Great captures, mwplay! Glad to see that DC is spending more time (although briefly) in the box with Beauty.

Thanks for your run-down on how Jack handles 2 nests, Carly. It will be interesting to see if DC does the same. He is already thin, so he'll need to be careful not to wear himself out!

More bonding in the box this morning. There are reports there was an earlier bonding session. Only picture captured was DC on deck heading towards nest box.

I captured this picture from the 10:20 session. B had been at the box, on the beam, calling for DC. She flew off. It seemed like less than a minute later, he arrived on deck, chupping and calling for her. He then headed to box and she arrived to join him. The session was very fast and of course, I got a commercial on the main cam side, so only snagged this picture:

By the time my capture was done, DC was gone. Beauty remains in the box, working on the scrape.

DC is on deck, calling for B.

Will post pics in a minute. Headed to box. He's calling/chupping for her.

Should be some good pictures on archives as he is staying longer. Still no B.

Commercial!!!!

I can hear another bird and it doesn't sound like B.

Maybe she's eating?

I don't like this...

Don't want to panic.

SOMETHING Isn't right

OMG - I'm shaking...

That falcon was banded, but I couldn't see band numbers, but that did not sound like Beauty & that bird was slow to get to box.

I hope I'm wrong.

ETA: The bird landed on wall and made her way over. Came very slow. I think Beauty would have been in that box in a second.

We need to watch....
