All five have now made it up on to the shelf. Shelf looks too small for four big females plus a bonus male.

Thanks for the picture, Dave. I saw three at a time up there today, but never all five.

Then everyone is on the landing

I don't know when the fledge watch is to start in Wilmington, but one of those birds is getting pretty bold sitting on the edge of the shelf with its tail hung out over the open end. Hoping there's no accidental fledge.

Thanks for the pictures, ljames. I learned earlier this morning that the fledge watches will be starting tomorrow, Tuesday May 19. Pretty sure that's Blue, the lone male, over on the side of the ledge. He seems to like that spot. Earlier this morning there must have been a food drop, as at least two of the birds were working on it.

Kids on the top playing with some feathers--some chick on the bottom playing with a more substantial piece of meat. Trinity visited them just now, but he was uncomfortable so he left.

You may get the prey but you can't always keep it.

I did NOT see it happen, but there have been two accidental fledges. Both are on a ledge under the nest box. People are there watching.

I did see a video of the two leaving the ledge. First one was definitely an accident. Second one may have been one wanting to join its sibling below.

Yeah, I saw it posted on the site. Looked up the times and just took screen shots. First one definitely a fall, second one, kind of a purposeful fall.

It would be almost impossible for those two to get back to the nest box without having to fly out, circle around, and fly up higher, which would be highly unlikely at this point. There is a slanted ledge under the nest box. There are many safe landing places nearby should they decide to fly. The one that flew down with its sib is Blue, the lone male. I just saw Red Girl checking on the three girls in the nest box. If I learn anything else tonight I'll pass it along.

I understand that one of the birds flew across the street and landed safely on top of where the elevator comes out on a parking garage across the street. Don't know which one. They watched until dark. Not sure if the other one is still under the nest box. Having done falcon watch in Harrisburg many times, I know how hard it is to give updates.
