Wow that must have been crazy with the crows on the ledge. I bet Niecey and Lil' Dad didn't like that.

Niecey was on the eggs, fortunately, and stayed there guarding her eggs. Lil Dad had not yet arrived at the nest. If he had he would have been furious! Remember the crow who landed on the ledge a few years ago? That crow didn't live long.

Niecey incubates Lil Dad from the point of flying to the camera guarding Niecey and the eggs.

She rolls the eggs

Several nights ago I was watching Little Dad on the point before he headed to his night roost. I could see LOADS of Crows whipping around above the train tracks, with some landed on the large metal supports for the electrical wires. The upper parking floor of the Chestnut Street Garage is sometimes so full of Crow poop that you have to watch your step.

Little Dad is still on the eggs, but Niecey has arrived on the point. It's getting cloudy here with possible showers this afternoon and thunderstorms overnight.

I was watching Little Dad sitting on the point last night somewhere around 7:30. Hundreds and hundreds of Crows were flying past, going to the left of the point. Little Dad obviously saw them, but just sat there watching. He flew off around 7:45, and the Crows were still flying around.

The picture is not good, but the arrow is pointing to the shadow of a spider, the entire dark spot. You can see the web pretty clearly, but the spider was amazing. I could even see it's legs, well the shadow of it's legs.

So, I have nothing better to do

Crows are migrating back to Canada.

I have only seen pictures, but it appears that THREE of Red Girl's eggs have hatched. I know the first hatch was last night around 6:30, but this morning I saw a picture of three little fluffballs.

Red Girl now has FOUR chicks. I don't remember any hatchings that close together before. Time will tell about the two other eggs.

Niecey and Little Dad just traded places. She's now on the eggs and he's on the point. Just saw that Red Girl now has FIVE chicks!

Little Dad left the point a few minutes ago. I was watching him for at least ten minutes or maybe longer. He was obviously quite irritated by all the Crows flying around, some of which seemed to come close to the point. But it's hard to tell how close they actually were.

Tuned in to find no one on the eggs. Then Niecey came back. Hope we soon have a hatch. Hanover eagles lost their only egg. No little ones this year. Juvie has been visiting but not sure if its one from a few years ago or not. Sure hope we have some here.

Earlier this afternoon a couple snow squalls came through our area. Yes, it is April 16. I think it's possible there may be a hatch over the weekend, but for many reasons I'm not in any hurry for that event.

Wonderful pictures, Terka. I just watched a repeat of the first one. Niecey came into the scrape, and was directly in front of Little Dad. He didn't budge. She went around to his side and I thought she was about to sit on him. He finally relinquished and left.

I love it when Lil' Dad stands his ground. :flirty:

But is smart enough to know when to give it up.

When are these eggs suppose to hatch? Getting impatient. Need something new to watch.
