There is an update on the DEP web site about the end of falcon watch for the year. Believe me, we searched EVERYWHERE for two entire days looking for Whitefoot, and absolutely could not locate him. I am still very upset about this, as are the rest of us who tried hard to find him. Unless you have ever dealt with fledge watch, you have no idea how exhausting it is. Loza, I think you found Big Yellow on the ledge earlier today.

Thank you for your kind words, alnc. Earlier this morning both Big and Little Yellow were on the ledge at various places.

It's heartbreaking to lose a chick in any manner, but especially, never knowing what happened to it.
:girlsad3:

It's possible Whitefoot will be found safe, but doubtful at this point.

You guys do what you do year after year and many falcons would not be here today without people like you. Thank you all for your dedication, long hours, and determination to do the best you can to insure that these special creatures survive.

:thankyou

I was downtown on Sunday morning, and I think it's possible that Big Yellow may have caught her own food. The only other falcon around at that point was Little Dad sitting on the steeple, and he just watched. She flew with food and ate it on this high section of Forum Place. Last night I was down there for about an hour. Big and Little Yellow were at various places, but not a lot of flying. Just as I was about to leave last night Big Yellow headed over to the louver ledges and landed there, four ledges down from the top. I'm wondering if she spent the night there.

how many day s did you see white foot after fledged Jane.

I ask this because , Our radisson went missing a few days after her fledge in Winnipeg, and 2 years later she ended up in Edmonton and has had 11 good years here so far.

Bev, I think Whitefoot first fledged successfully somewhere around June 10. After two days of watching him at various places, he made a crash landing into some windows above the entrance to the Carson Building. He was NOT going at high speed. He was rescued from that spot and was taken to rehab for observation, and returned to Harrisburg on June 17. Upon release that day, none of the six of us who were watching could get a handle on where he went, as suddenly there were four falcons in the air at once and they all seemed to vanish immediately. Due to Covid, none of our birds were banded this year, so getting an ID on him at a later date would make it hard to distinguish him from any other juvie. We called our juvies by their foot color this year, as there was no other way for us to know which one was which. As I type this, Big Yellow is bumming in the shade behind the orange post on the ledge, and Little Yellow is in the scrape.

Thanks for posting the pictures of Niecey, loza. She can be quite comical. I may head downtown for some falcon watching this evening. Last night both Big and Little Yellow were on the point for a LONG time.

Spent about an hour downtown tonight. Niecey was on the window sill around the corner from the ledge. Little Dad was on the shield, but then moved to the stick. There was no sign of the juvies, but I'm sure they're still in the area. Usually when the adults are on the ledge at night, juvies are elsewhere.

I couldn't figure out which falcon was on the cam this morning. Big and Little Yellow are at the end of the ledge right now!

Glad to have the scrape view back this morning. I was downtown for a bit last night. Found Niecey on the window sill around the corner from the ledge, and Little Dad on the point. In the time it took me to go over to the garage roof, Little Dad was gone, but there was a falcon on the corner of the U Building roof. Must have been Big Yellow, for after a bit she flew over to the point. I've not seen Little Yellow for a while, and am wondering if he is out on his own. We are having horrible heat here, with temps well into the 90s every day, and very little rain.
