Green Bay - one future fledgling is perched at the nest ( he still has enough down on him that I dont think he/ she has fledged yet) I read in the last post about Green Bay that one of the chicks did not survive, so I think that makes one chick has fledged, and one remains in the nest. Resident adults are JoJo and Leopold. No bands given. EDIT - I peeked. In at this nest just now. He must be jumping out onto a perch, and jumping back in the nestbox. He is very proud of himself….

Madison- Melvin flew up to the nestbox, just kind of hanging out on the perch. Here comes Trudy, roaring into the nestbox with prey! Did she think Melvin was a kid?

Weston- I didn’t realize these guys were this far behind. Earlier mom brought in prey, fed them a few bites, and then left the prey for them to self feed. Three healthy looking banded chicks.

well, I played with the DVR enough to know that there were 3 young ones in the box when they woke up this morning. Mom or dad brought a food delivery, and a little after that one juvie left. Then an hour? later a second fledgling disappeared off to the right while the last fledgling was t looking (LOL) Now, while I was typing this I see no juvies on the ledge, but she may be down on the nestbox floor….

Yes! I’m thinking we were all surprised when eggs started to appear in the nest…And now as I peer in, I see the young lady, the last of the Mohicans, standing near the edge of her nestbox, gazing out… but I’ll bet she will fledge soon, too :loveheart:

Weston-Looks like #3 has fledged… I got on the cam, seeing no one on the ledge, knowing that sometimes they would jump down on the floor of the nest box. But in comes unbanded mom. She inspects the ledge and then hops down into the box for nearly a minute. No juvie popped up, just mom, so her girl must have fledged for sure…

Madison- I got separate “looks” at Trudy, who stopped in on the stick to preen and just relax, Melvin stopped in later, after Trudy had left. It seems he must have just polished off some prey as he kept wiping his beak on the perch. Then he just hung around on the perch relaxing. Would the kids have dispersed by now?

Weston’s cam is still on as well. I’m thinking the juvies should still be around? The Unbanded female made an appearance at the nestbox about 5 hours ago.

Weston- Sheldon called his new female into the nestbox for some pair bonding…But in comes a begging juvie to interrupt them. Both parents fled.
