First egg at 02.07 am local time, August 20.

I made a video of Diamond laying the egg. Video quality is not so good, but it's still exciting! We have an egg!

it looks like Diamond is delaying incubation. I'm so excited for 2nd egg!

I checked the CSU page for an update but Cilla hasn't posted anything since the 8/17/18 post about the camera cleaning. I'll check back later today and bring his new post here if there is one.

I know they're practicing delayed incubation, but I think Xavier left the egg uncovered for over an hour while Diamond was away this morning and it's cold there. I hope the egg is ok. :/ No new posts from CSU still.

First egg for Diamond

The first egg arrived at 0207 on Monday morning. I’m afraid I missed the actual event. But it was filmed by BirdieCam in the Northern Hemisphere (Holland?) and her youtube channel can be found here:

I expect egg number two tonight. And hopefully at least a third in a day or two. The female will only sporadically incubate until all her eggs are lain, so they are in ‘sync’, so don’t worry if she seems to leave them. She won’t be far away!

I noticed that Xavier came in with a tiny prey yesterday (thanks to an observant peregrine watcher!) and I’m 99 % sure it was a superb fairy wren – barely a beakful and a first in my books!

Apparently Diamond and Xavier mated on the ledge on 8/20/18. The YouTube channel Cilla provided a link to in her post of 8/21/18 has a video of it. Here's a direct link: tps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0QlZV_lrXLk . It's good to see Diamond and Xavier probably won't have any nonviable eggs. :)
