I don't remember transmitters on the Quebec falcons, but I have a terrible memory and could be wrong. I do recall that the two juvies from Brandon (Manitoba) were fitted with transmitters.

There is more than one nest in Quebec, so it could be from one of those.
And yes, there were 2 from Brandon with transmitters .
Exciting.

Thanks from me too, Kitten! I was wondering when this nest cam would be back on the air.

Good news for Algo and Polly!

Algo and Polly, the offspring of Spirit and Roger, born in 2009, now have a brand new box at the Turcot interchange. This is the company (Falcon Environmental Services (FES) in collaboration with the Ministry of Natural Resources and Wildlife and Transportation (MTQ)) who carried out the construction and installation of the box. The latter is on the stack J-4, a battery "north" of the pile where their first nest was located last year. After a failed nesting attempt in 2011, it is hoped that 2012 will bring them healthy falcons.

Thanks for that news, Susan. . and very nice looking box too!!! Fingers crossed that Polly and Algo will use it. I was so happy to hear she was ok last year. . .I wonder if either of them have been spotted yet?

What good news about Polly and her new nestbox. Looks a little scary to me, but probably not for a falcon. :valtongue:

I hope that they will accept the box and be successful in raising their own little chicks. Thanks for the info.

The two perches coming off the top of the box were interesting. Has anyone see that on any other box?

Can't remember ever seeing anything like that, but good lookout spots for adults. Just wish there was a little ladder/steps going up there for the juvies. :nailbite:

I have not seen perches like that but maybe there is something straight ahead and they want to encourage them to leave from the sides???

I am so happy for Polly. Hopefully she uses it.
