Any idea what is going on here? I periodically check the cam (and the DVR) and have had no luck finding anyone.

TPC from the Manitoba forum posted this video of a visiting Gyrfalcon to the Radisson nest box.

We have had a dark morph Gyrfalcon visiting the Radisson nestbox through much of the winter. S/he first visited on Christmas Eve, then again New Year's Eve and then periodically through January and February. Each time it is after a snowfall and each time s/he has more snow to wade through and they always check inside the box just in case someone has left something behind since they last visited. In a month and a bit, the Gyrfalcon will need to move on as the peregrines usually reappear in Winnipeg mid- to late-March.

Ella from Brandon has been confirmed, she nests at the west Winnipeg site. Hart has also been confirmed.

No sign of Princess (2002 Minneapolis) but she is seventeen, I would be very surprised if she comes back this year.

The Winnipeg cam is streaming now. :dancegirl:

The 2019 Shaw Spotlight FalconCam -
This year we are watching Spencer, Hart & their lone chick at the Logan nestsite - the cam on the Radisson ledge moves too much in the wind.

2019 FalconCam Update

Usually the FalconCam follows the day-to-day lives of the Peregrine Falcons in the nestbox on the roof of the Radisson Hotel in downtown Winnipeg. Unfortunately this year, the new resident female (Fiona) decided that a ledge on the east-side of the Hotel was more appealing. We do have a camera in place but the ledge is very exposed and the wind (any wind) shakes the camera making it difficult to watch. Fortunately, we had installed a new camera at our Logan nestsite (also in Winnipeg) which is in a much more protected location. We can't provide details on the location of the Logan nestbox for the safety and security of the peregrines nesting there but we are sure you will enjoy getting to know Spencer and Hart and their chick this year.
