I had little hope that crushed egg could hatch. I saw the chick's movement a few times but feared it wouldn't be able to push the shell open. So I am very glad it did. :loveshow:

The falcons were transported to the birds of prey clinic this morning. Unfortunately one of the three had died at daybreak. The other two are alive, but infested with parasites, much like fleas, which feed on blood and therefore cause anemia. They will be treated and fed, and we cross our fingers for a return to the nest as quickly as possible.

Good news, the falcons have just returned to the nest! They were stripped of their parasites and fed. One of the babies was also identified with a blue mark, to easily differentiate them and better follow their evolution. Eve was very "happy" to see them again, and as of this writing they are already fed. We will have to do another treatment tomorrow afternoon directly on the tower, and monitor the situation closely with the camera zoom. They are not out of the woods yet, we cross our fingers!

I checked this cam today and was Shocked to see chicks. I thought it was a given that too much time had passed. Then I came here to get the story and learned that one of the little chicks had already died.
Almost too sad to imagine.

:sorrow:

Thank goodness, the other two were saved and returned to the nest. I had so been hoping that there would be chicks here.

Here are a few pictures

When I first saw them, I was like what the heck is that round spot on that chick's head.
:nervous:

The male seems fascinated.

Some photos from today.
I actually saw two feedings. I could see a fly in the box, and it was bugging one of the chicks. Maybe flies are in all of the nests, but this cam is so good, that it was clearly visible.

They are so sweet.

That dot on the little one's head is getting lighter quicker than I thought it would.

Some pictures from today. Seemed like a long time for a feeding, but 3, including the first one I saw. Probably more before that. Male hung out for a bit.
