No, I'm afraid they won't be banded. TPC and conservation won't go in the building because of it being infested with pigeon droppings. (Hazmat suits required)
They have placed new nest boxes close by on another building downtown and there is another new one out at the Generating Station just 3 miles east of the McKenzie site. The falcons have a choice of three sites close by. It's their choice (falcons) unless they(conservation ) remove one or deny access to it.

Rescued Chick

One chick got grounded and was rescued! It was released the next day on the Scotia building, 1/2 block from the McKenzie building. It was there for about 45 minutes and flew back to the McKenzie site. Made a nose dive landing but it seemed okay!

Today another rescue...sort of!!

I had only been seeing one chick yesterday and again today. The rescued chick got between the the two buildings and hadn't been able to get out. There is a dock there and it is now blocked off by a 12 foot wooden fence. It's a small space and the chick had been there since the day before. It was put up to prevent people from going in there. I have seen a lot of things down there :shock since I frequent it on a regular basis in the spring /summer.

I could hear the chick yelling from behind the wall....it was loud!

I contacted TPC and conservation. Allison from conservation came and we were waiting for a key to the building when the other chick decided to fledge. It ended up on the ground across the street and then it flew again and landed on a building not far from home. It eventually flew back to the McKenzie building.

Meanwhile, the trapped chick managed to fly out....we never saw it, we were kind of busy with the other chick. It seemed fine! It looked like it was pretty hungry...chowing down on food mom left earlier!!
