Morning report
Well, did not have to pay for parking, no power in the parkade.
Blue was on the NW 4th ledge on the CP
Red was on the corner of the Maz.
Radisson on the camera.
I thought , I saw Chase on his corner when I was coming up the ramp to the top. But, was not there when I went to do the head count.
Well, Red is giving all the FWs a real treat with his de-throning of mom and dad every moment he can. Best way to get more people hooked on fledge watch. Just wish some would like more of the early morning with me. LOL
Blue had a hidden stash of food on the ledge, she started to eat it and Red decide that she should share. But, as he was coming in for a landing, Blue blocked the ledge and he just got up to the ledge above.
And that is where I left the kids before going to work.

Have a good day everyone, and drink lots of water.

Good for Blue! I like that she does not let Red have his own way! :)

I am coming back to do a report in a bit. am trying to do some photos

but
1. peter phoned and red did a wonderful food exchange

2. Chase and Radisson just had an intruder. Peter figures it was more of an usher out but that is why Chase is at box. we will have to keep eyes open now

Chase is on guard.

I will let Piffle fill you in as she is there right now

well blue continues to get stronger and stronger. there is not a building in the area that she has not reached the top of. She just has to keep her wits about her.
Red, well what can I say, he can soar, he chased out a raven today. We heard kaking and off he went , after it.

you will hear their screaming around the area. next year you will be able to see them.

it was a hot one today so they lay low for awhile. We did not see Red try to tag Blue today. I think he knows how strong has has become.

but they chilled together on the roof of the nest box for quite a bit this afternoon.

I am going to post a few pictures from the beginning of watch till now and I will post some pictures of buildings so you can see what we are talking about.

I had taken lots of pictures when I first started the watch but cannot find them in archives.

RE: Weber..

I've checked several times today...looked through the DVR each time...either the kids have fledged or they have figured out how to get past Gord's baby gates...

I'll try to check first thing in the morning...to see if they slept in the box..

My last morning report

:danceegg:
Red was on the Jut and 1 parent on the Chases corner on the CP. After a short time Red flew (glided) over to the Maz. Then out pops Blue at the jut with something on the talons. hopping and jumping along the ledge. Blue got bored and noticed that Red had something on the Maz. She is a girl , and wanted it too. So. off the jut and up to the Maz , knocking Red down. And then the chase was on, both flying around the Clincial science building(nest) around and around the merry-go-around, they fly. Then back to the Maz with Blue taking the food and eating it, and baby boy red crying at her. Then something made me turn around to the CP building, where both Radisson and Chase where, Chase fly off in the distance and I saw him dive steep and then headed back to the CP building. Then this bolt of lightening came wizzing past me and it was Red going out to intersept dad. Chase never made it back to his corner. Red knocked off mom and dad from it, but followed dad around the Clincial building and only Chase came back out form around it. So. Red must of got the food and ate it on the west side , away from my sight. Then, Red would just pop up here and there around all the buildings. He went to the nest box, just had to text Bev to look. With the sun on his chest , he looked like his dad or Arnold Swzeniger(you know who I mean) with all those muscles. At the end of my morning , Red fly of the Maz with Blue right behind and on top of the jut.

Thank You Bev and Peter for a honour to watch and learn, from them and the two of you.
Hats off to the FW team that get the day shift, I hate heat. Stay cool and drink something you like all day. But, not from Peter's basement.

Signing off
Westend old bird

Ty west end bird. we do not know everything but we try to pass on what we do know. drop by if you have a spare moment in your busy time right now. The watch officially ends Sunday august 3 but we try and go out there in evenings. and look for the notice about a wind up at our place.

it is just amazing to see the growth of these two youngsters. and they are very close. where one flies , so does the other. Red just keep challenging himself and I think he gives blue incentive , that way. Her flights are stronger and stronger.
today Radisson dropped off food for blue and Red just tears in, Blue stands her ground. He has to wait till she is finished.

you can probably hear them when you have cam up as they are always flying around the Maz and clinical science and college plaza.

we are managing to find shady spots and when the kids cooperate , we can stay in the shade.

we have a few pictures but peter has camera. I took it home last night so we missed shot of Reds successful food exchange

red goes back to box often as he is always looking for a snack.( something like Peter) :egg21: :egg21:

the night crew will probably up date you more. I am jsut hot

WEber

that was D01 in the picture. Peter did not see the kids when he went down to Weber but it was very hot so they were probably in shade on roof.

I f we have enough help I will take a drive down in morning. it is not too far from University.

bev

weber

2 girls at home tonight.
will post video in a bit

My friend Barb went ;down tonight and she saw one girl flapping on ledge and getting some air. she thought she was going to take off.
then she just lay on ledge right below right side of box.

so I know some were wondering if they could get out of baby gates. Yes , they can.
being both females, they may stay a bit longer. no way of telling but we will continue to monitor the best we can
