Thank you so much for those posting. And l James, I have hundreds of pictures I never get posted.
Will try and catch up

We have a very wet week , this week.
These young will be banded on Thursday.
Female very sneaky here. She waits on cam or left rail , out of view. She intercepts dad quickly as he comes in or Grabs before he gets there. Lol
She obviously is hunting now also. Our male is training her well. Now it will start getting hairy in there for male , ad they grow.

Thanks bev.

I'm so glad that the banding went well and the chicks are healthy. I figured that there was one big girl. :loveheart2:

I tried to stay online for the banding but didn't know the time. Looking back over the video, I couldn't tell either, but I did get a few cute pictures.

For some reason they turned cam off for a few hours at banding. Never done before. I thought it was this morning but I guess they went to Nutrien first.

Here is a picture from july2 of tandem feed again

Image
the female here is very aggressive when retrieving prey from male. I am always afraid she is going to injure him

They are beautiful! :10sum: :15heartbeat: :15heartbeat:

I just saw dad come in with prey and sure enough mom grabbed it from him (rather aggressively) and flew off.................... now the chicks are waiting for food.

Thanks bev.

Bless their hearts, tucked in the box. Well they didn't look terrified, more like curious. I guess being so close together helped. :5val:

I saw that too, very intense. Just about all delivery and feedings are that way, but I do notice that the prey is usually very small, thankfully frequent though.

food delivery before the acrobatic show Dad put on.

The one you posted with him on the back wall of the nestbox. :girlcrazy:

Not much left over after this feeding

Another delivery. Think I saw about 4.

I wish they would let the things grow up so thy had a bigger meal. Dad has been just dropping off hi s so kids can learn to crack them and eat.

dad has been dropping prey, so kids learn to self feed, but often mom comes in and feeds it Lol

sh e is still there most times for th e grab on dads prey. I am sure she is doing some of her own hunting also.

she sure has improved form th e day she arrived. Our male is excellent and an excellent an d patient teacher
