I so wish they would get their acts together and get a cam back. such a shame as the telus site is a good one.

Peter and I have been away but on our way home we stopped at Red Deer.

first stop was Sheraton hotel(formerly caprice center)

we stopped here as Gord and his friend banded there this year and got band number of male . We were so excited becasue it was Miss Edmonton's first chick after box was put up at Weber in 2o10. We watched this one till it left for migration. It was a very smokey year. I will never forget it. We were all so excited. so nice ot see her genes being passed on

C over 92 (these were taken this year)

He was not there when we got there and kids wee not around. but we have not so good pciutres of female. We scoped her. she has no bands. could be born at telus site. I cannot believe I did not get a head shot. Thought I had

next stop was Telus site at Red deer. It is great site here. nice tall tower , if you remember, lots of space to flap wings, and if they misstep, there are plenty of trees around, so if they ground, they can get up higher by using trees, or the metal on tower. way better than Sheraton center which is across from a major road.

our pciutres were taken from a distance but we were lucky to see both adults. I believe it was female on tower when we got there . Then male flew in and went to box, , female went in for bonding. male flew out and went under metal rafters in tower. We were following with binoculars and scope. Female came out and perched on one of metal bars in tower, male was up and behind her.

pictures are not great but just a reminder of area.( maybe a bigger lens next year, we will see)

to remind you of box

female still outside but has moved more toward box

we tried to see if bands

just gives you idea of top part of tower

female after she leaves box underneath in tower

could see male in scope but could not get him with camera. so tried to circle where he was

So we still have 2 pairs in Red deer, and I am assuming telus produced young. too bad no one keeps track anymore or if they do , they do not report it, where we can see.
