We're in for some bad weather here! They've already had storms and heavy rain - but now it's going to get pretty cold and it's already very windy.

Quote:
A STRONG COLD FRONT WILL MOVE THROUGH THE AREA THIS MORNING AND EARLY AFTERNOON. STRONG HIGH PRESSURE BUILDS IN BEHIND THIS FRONT LATER TODAY INTO THIS WEEKEND... AND BRINGS SOME OF THE COLDEST TEMPERATURES OF THE SEASON SO FAR TO THE AREA. NEAR FREEZING TEMPERATURES ARE EXPECTED OVER THE NATURE COAST TONIGHT... WITH MID TO UPPER 30S ELSEWHERE. GUSTY WINDS IN THE EARLY MORNING HOURS WILL CREATE WIND CHILLS IN THE MID TO UPPER 20S OVER THE NATURE COAST AND LOWER TO MID 30S FOR ALL OTHER AREAS EXCEPT THE IMMEDIATE COAST.

Beth, very nice pic of both on the nest this morning :ny2:

Patti, thanks for the weather update, I noticed it was windy and raining there this morning. Hopefully they still have only one egg but more likely two by now...on the positive side they don't have chicks to cover :calm I wish we could see inside the nest bowl

I wish we could see the eggs too, but it's probably good that she dug that bowl down deep enough. I'd be afraid they'd get blown off!! I am worried about the temperature for tonight. I hope she stays snuggled down on down!! I haven't seen both of them yet today but I haven't been watching constantly.

If you are reading this, I finally figured out how to post a message!!! thanks to Beth for giving me some help...

I am in Dunedin Florida. Last night was quite warm - 72, but a cold front came through today and brought lots of rain and strong winds. It supposed to be in the 50s during the day and the low 30s for a week....not great weather for incubating eggs....

I know for sure that she has one egg. One of our viewers snapped a great picture confirming that but, I don't know how to include a pictures so you all can see it. Beth, could you post it please....thanks

That's a great pic of the egg. Wind is still blowing. I didn't see any switches while I was watching today and I cannot tell which adult is on the nest. It must be hard for them fly in that wind.

Well, I caught a switch a little bit ago but I lost the picture somehow. Seems like they made it through the night OK, still windy though.

They just put a big stick in front of the cavity. They are going to make it very difficult for us to see egg 2 and 3....not sure how we will get a picture now confirming new eggs...

She made it through a very cold night in the 30s. For the rest of the week it is supposed to be around freezing every night. Sure hope she can keep the egg(s) warm enough
