By the way, in case you hadn't noticed, we have an egg! The evening shift of volunteers phoned to tell me. This is fanatstic news, and more to follow hopefully. I texted the Team who are all ecstatic. More from them tomorrow.

:thanku Patti thanks for your pics! They show extremely well how miserable night EJ had last night! She was brooding in the rain and it wasn't either very warm, better rather cold. :sosad2

I think there were also while ago little rain when Odin was brooding. But just now windy, now rain. Hope so much it will stay like that - however after forecasting there is a possibility for snowing too.

Image 3 eggs!

Loch Garten osprey diary / Wednesday, 21 April 2010 / Richard Thaxton - Site manager Loch Garten

With EJ now safely on three eggs, (phew!) - the third one laid this morning at 06.35am - it's time now
to sit back and await the outcome towards the end of May.

Patti, great catch....you have the first pic...others have been trying :eastergirl:

FROM THE LOCH GARTEN BLOG

1st New Arrival!!

Well we did predict that the first chick would hatch on 21st May and despite cutting it a little bit fine we were not disappointed. Our first chick hatched at 23.41 on Friday 21st May under the cover of darkness.

EGG BREAKING NEWS...

... the second chick hatched today just after 7am. The new arrival recieved its first meal this morning when Odin proudly presented his growing family with a freshly caught rainbow trout. EJ delicately carved the fish up, feeding the softer bits of flesh to the chicks and keeping the harder parts for herself. By the sounds of it there seems to be a second fish on the way... I can hear EJ nagging from the back of the shop.

The eldest chick is already trying to sit up and move around. Odin seems a bit confused as to why he isn't being allowed to sit on the eggs anymore, but he's been doing a good job bringing in the fish so far and must miss those lazy days of sitting in the sun / rain / wind / snow ...delete as appropriate.

Keep your eyes peeled for the arrival of number 3.

From yesterday: Image :spingirl:

There might be even the third one too - but we don't know it yet. The cam has been today some hours down, but is back again just now.
