DEF, thanks for posting Lady's migration update :openrose: I couple of day's ago, I read that they thought she may have started her migration. So she has. All eyes will be on LOL in the spring, watching for her return. :spring1:

Thanks for finding the story and bringing it over, kittenface. I noted that one expert said she had only a 50% chance of returning. Well gee - that means there is a 50% chance she will return, which (to be honest) is a bit more than I would have expected. I was watching when it looked as if her chances were somewhere between slim and none - and she prevailed.
:loveheart:

I don't know if she'll return in the spring or not. If she does, I'll cheer (and probably cry when I tell my husband). If she doesn't, I will probably assume (against all reason) that she's decided she's had enough of the cold northern lochs, and is sitting on a beach somewhere with a glass of fish juice with lime and a little umbrella.
:siptea:

Whatever happens - she is the Lady of the Loch. :beathrt:

An update from the site:

August 31st, 2010 by E Rawling, Perthshire Ranger SWT

We’ve had almost daily osprey sightings here at Lowes, of birds passing through, which is a nice reminder of how many birds are further north than us are breeding. Thankyou to those of you posting details of other ospreys on route in the UK- fascinating reading.

Excellent news this morning about one of our previous ospreys chicks born here at Lowes, which has been sighted in Dumfries and Galloway. The female chick was hatched here in 2001 and is a daughter of our wonderful lady and her previous mate ‘Eric’. Isn’t it wonderful to think of her descendants out there helping repopulate new areas of Scotland!

I hope the Lady of the Lowes migrated successfully and will return safely in the spring. What an amazing osprey she is. It is so good to hear news of one of her daughters.
