Patti, the egg dates are 4/6, 4/8, 4/11 and 4/14. That's one productive osprey, this isn't her first four egg clutch :thumbegg:

There are now three! The third was seen the morning of May 19, but it might have hatched on the 18th - weather was very rainy on the 18th so there were very few peeks at the chicks. I'll add a couple of pictures after work.

There is one more egg, and it might be either the first or last one laid - if it's the last, it might hatch today or even tomorrow. We'll keep you posted!
:egghatch:

Pics for the record:

May 17 - 8:45 am - Sherri's pic from the Maine forum - shell indicating a hatch

March 17 - 9:53 am - Sherri's pic from Maine forum - first look at both chicks

March 18 was exceedingly rainy - and we didn't get much of a look at the chicks.

March 19 - 7:02 am - Sherri's pic of something that might be eggshell moving about in front of Lola

March 19 - 7:40 am - Sherri's pic showing three chicks

Here are a few pics from today - the first pair are of both parents feeding the chicks:

The other four are from a later feeding, where the male brought in the fish, then left while the female fed the three chicks

Cam is fogged up so couldn't take a good photo, BUT: amazing that the 4 chicks are so close in size. Excellent parenting along with abundant food supply nearby.

Osprey have been returning to our Coastal Center at Milford Point's nesting platform since 1997. Our Osprey nesting platform is located in a terrific spot -- the 840-acre Wheeler Salt Marsh, with an abundant variety of fish for them to eat.

Cam has been fogged over for many days - now clear. Chicks are huge. One forgets how fast they grow until you can't see them for awhile, and then...WOW!
