Jazzel

I don't check in on the Lake Muskego nest very oftern. Were there any chick(s) hatched in the nest?
Right now (1000am HST) the nest is empty.

Shshen, Muskego, WI has a topic under the US Osprey sub forum...Buckeye, WI, they are the same nest. Both eggs hatched on 5/30, both nestlings died on 6/20...for no apparent reason...a mystery. You will find pics and documentation on the Buckeye, WI topic.

I'm going to PM you on this topic.

Hi Jazzel
The Creston Valley O-cam resolution is fab. I am wondering if the adult female is suffering from some sort of allergy...she appears to be frequently "snorting"...as if she is trying to blow something out of her nares. Any clue?

Shshen, gnats, I've seen her picking them off her back, and the nestlings....some must get up her nose. I once thought the female osprey on the New Hampshire nest had some nasty disease. She was shaking her head, non-stop. Well, it was Black Flies  we don't have Black Flies on Cape Cod, :duh:

Anyway, I think it may, I hope, be little bugs.
