I'm wondering if the Hilton Head personnel will be able to restructure the platform after the season ends.
It definitely scary  to watch the chicks living on a nest such as this one.

I'm even more fearful when they are much older...squabbling with one another might see one push the other over the edge...YUK!

I'm not posting my thoughts on how this nest could be/should have been, helped. Hoping for the best!!!....BUT, VERY SCARY.

Kitten, yes : :mmd: Wonder who that osprey is? Looks like he/she has white tipped juvie feathers? 19 osprey were counted this week at Hawk Mountain, so a very active migration, still.

It seems late in the year to find an osprey at the nest. This afternoon:

Kitten, Beth and Alison, no way to confirm if all the pics are the same osprey, or age. They are migrating osprey (not residents), stopping to rest and fish.

Hope they get good weather soon :bughug:

Alison, it would be very, very late in the season to have a resident osprey on it's nest in this area. But, not at all unusual to see migrating osprey stopping for rest and fishing...a long hard trip. :impat:
