Thanks SGB I sure hope they aren't just telling us all that just to make us feel better

They are doing the right thing. Attempting to capture a bird that's able to fly will very likely end badly.

In the past 3 weeks #73's wing has healed nicely. She's holding the injured wing up and in, almost normally, and flying well. The male is still bringing her fish

thanks so much for the video, Jazzel!! :sum10: WHEW . .. so glad that the wing has healed. . .That's something that dad is still bringing her fish. . I believe I read that everyone else has migrated. .

so...hmmmm....will dad and 73 hang around? Does migration get harder the longer they wait to leave?

SGB, sorry I missed this post :redface

The male and juvie both migrated, the video was the last time they were on the nest. Late migration shouldn't make a difference, they still have the same challenges...weather, Great-horned Owls, accidents, humans....

Remember "Meadow" in 2008 ?

I posted links to Osprey tracked from Jackson Hole, WY in the Migration Topic, the maps show tracks followed by Northwest ospreys.
