This nest is located in the Island Beach State Park in Seaside Park, NJ.

Well this is not good I posted about it on the Facebook page but I don't know if it will do any good they need to think about one of those predator guards fast I would think

Kitten, this is a very tall platform, looks higher than the old one. It would take a very determined predator to climb that high, but you never know. I hope no Great-horned Owls in the area...nothing stops them!

A predator guard is always good, better safe than sorry :valthumb:

I don't know the stream went off after a couple minutes and I had to restart and it was gone,
boy looking at those pictures HE/SHE was very determined to get up there what a climb that was

Well I went and looked at the pictures again and i guess the nest is not as high as I thought I was looking at the pole with the camera on it I sure hope Rocky stays away

Darn it .. I wish I have saved the pic I had from yesterday morning (I thought I had). something dark and something very still was on the nest for a very long time. . I don't think it was an osprey (injured or otherwise), but it was gone last night when I checked (before the raccoon incident). Dr. Watts (Richmond Eagles) said that eagles/osprey are no match for a raccoon that raids a nest of eggs/chicks. The outcome is never good!!!

well, it's still there. . I guess its some sort of debris. . I went back and looked at KF's Raccoon video.. it shows as white in the video. . but, it doesn't look like the Raccoon is particularly interested in it. . when I first saw it, and wasn't sure of the nest size. . I thought it was a dead osprey. .
