They didn't have the long eared owls last year kitten (or the Barn Owls?), I am not sure about the Little Owls...

The Little Owls are being followed on line for the 4th year, but the indeed Barn Owl and Eagle Owl webcams are new.

For all the webcamviewers who donot read Dutch, but wish to follow the developments in the Beleef de Lente nests:
English translations of the BDL logbook posts can be found here:

Geniet van de Lente is a site of young Dutch fans of the BDL (and other) bird webcams:

Translations of background info will follow -
it is interesting to read more about the location of the webcams and the history of the nests/nestboxes that are being shown.

Thanks Bosuil...Hope Beleef de Lente nests have a good 2010 nesting season!
I need to go over and check out the nest right now...keep forgetting

TAWNY OWL update from the webcam site...

A few weeks ago we installed a new high-resolution IP camera with two separate sensor systems in the nest tree. Now a colour image can be transmitted in daylight time, and the image quality is higher than last year.

All is prepared, but it isn’t certain yet that the owls will nest this year. The winter has been severe, and the food situation with regard to small rodents poor, so no wonder if the owls should decide not to have a family. In March and April tawny owls can be seen and heard at dusk.

Let us keep an eye on what goes on!
The camera image is renewed every 30 seconds.

Site info from today...I used Babel fish for the ~~translation~~

~~It is so far...perhaps already today 3/10 we will be able to admire a first egg. Some eagle owl ladies sit already before beginning of putting 1-2 days in the NIST hollow. With something luck we can observe like Lotte feathers/springs at the belly leave the country ourselves around the eggs better to warm to be able. Then it puts further eggs in the distance of 1-3 days, exceptionally is also " Nachzügler" with still larger time interval possible. In or shortly after the dusk Lotte will facilitate the refuge presumably briefly abandoned around itself.~~

She stayed at the nest till around 19:33 (7:00 pm) She must not have eggs yet,
no one is home right now...
