Bev -- There are lots of similarities. I hope that both Edmonton and Wilmington pairs stay similar and raise lots of healthy fledglings in 2010.

Unfortunately I'll be out of the office tomorrow doing a bird-a-thon big day so hopefully Greg won't have much work and can spend most of his day looking out the window!!! :)

Red Girl's been in and out of the nest box 3 more times in the last few minutes. I really think she's trying to encourage the male into the box!

Good luck on the big day. You may list more cuckoos than in prior years when Caesar was still on post.

Well, if he is the same guy, Caesar got him in the box (or vice versa), but that carries an implication that both males would heartily disagree with (not that there's anything wrong with that).

Greg, you crack me up.

I neglected to note that at 5:15 pm EDT (an hour later than time displays for me on this site) Red Girl left the nest box ledge and flew straight away to the northeast. I went up to the roof of the parking garage but the only raptor I saw was an osprey headed up the Brandywine River, unharrassed by falcons (not that they would have any reason to harass an osprey, but lack of reasons doesn't always stop falcons from harassing stuff). There were freshly plucked mourning dove feathers blowing across the roof that weren't there four hours earlier. I hope that the tiercel caught it and gave it to Red Girl.

I'm getting caught up here too after a busy day and see we have some pretty exciting activity going on! I'm really glad to hear this news about the other falcon in the area. Thanks to everyone for the updates and posted pictures from today.

Greg, I hope your day is light tomorrow so you can keep a lookout for us. I'm hoping for a positive turn of events for Red Girl. This season hasn't gone the way we all hoped it would so far. It's time for some happy news.

NOW SHE'S JUST LAYING THERE LIKE SHE'S SLEEPING TOWARDS THE BACK OF THE BOX BEHIND THE EGGS. HAVE NOT SEEN HER GO OVER TO THE EGGS AT ALL THIS MORNING.
