CJ was on a ledge on the curve of the building nw of the nest box ledge an hour ago. Yesterday at this time Red Girl (I think) was on a ledge two spaces away from the box.

Finally! After two days of just seeing part of a tail in the nest box, I finally saw a whole falcon - Red Girl in this case - there just now. :loveshow:

I saw her fly around the space of a city block, over my head and up to and into the box right before Catbird caught her on camera. I thought it was Red Girl because she looked big and because the bases of her wings were really wide -- looked like they took all the space between her head and her tail.

A couple of mourning dove feathers looked like they had been rained on, so probably yesterday's.

Red Girl was the early bird this morning. In addition to checking out the scrapes, she also checked out the new striped feather in the nest...I'm not sure if the falcons are molting and it's one of theirs, or if it's from some other bird. :?

The falcons are molting. The feather is from one of their tails.

Pictures don't display on my work desktop, so I'll have to look at this tonight.

Pigeon and mourning dove feathers on the sidewalk, for some reason.
