She's just been sitting there looking pretty much at ease. My live video is off and on. Maybe lots of people watching or something, or maybe just me. A little uncomfortable that Trooper hasn't been seen, but I'm sure he'll turn up sooner or later.

Well Durand left the ledge a few minutes ago. She kinda took off sideways. Still no Trooper. I sure hope he's not injured somewhere. Somebody definitely had Durand's attention earlier, just thinking it was Trooper. Still, why hasn't he shown up on the ledge? Maybe she has gone to get him. :-)

So, no one has seen Trooper today? Well, this is very upsetting. I guess all we can do is wait . . . and wait . . .

Thanks to all the coverage today...I sure am glad it has been much calmer....I turned on the cam as soon as I got home and kept it open until dark....but didn't see anyone...

I know we are all worried about not seeing Trooper today, but I want to caution us not to panic..(me included)..and think the worse. The altercation yesterday was between Durand and the female intruder...Trooper probably lent his support...but, from everything I learned from Froona and all our other very knowledgable members, is that its usually female vs female/male vs male...which, if that holds true, means that Durand shouldered the brunt of the intrusion, not Trooper....and from Mick's videos/pics it looks like she did a fantastic job!!!

Of course, my eyes (or recorder) will be glued to the cam this weekend!!!

I am pretty sure that I saw Trooper today. ljames left to go to her kitchen and Carly had just left. Durand was sitting in Scout's spot, started "chipping", went down and stood inside the front edge of the nest box...came back out. Two birds flew past, Durand still chipping, went to the edge D-Dived after them and I could see her fly up and to the right after them. ljames came back from the kitchen. We both posted.

Durand came right back all calm and preened for 30 minutes at the center edge of the ledge.

Trooper is standing guard while Durand occupies the ledge; makes tactical sense.
These birds are brilliant.

That does make a lot of sense, Mick. Thank you for that and thank you to SGB for the reminder to remain calm. These birds do know what they're doing, and Trooper has always loved being the "elusive" one. :wink:

Thanks Mick. I did record and post the event and you can see the two birds fly by right after Durand comes out of the box, gotta think at least one of them is Trooper. I just always try to get a head start on panic. Hope to see him there first thing tomorrow.
