Just realized, I should have said, when in that area of 95 and 40 you will be in Maryland. (See previous post)

yes i used to sail out from across the bay from both the elk and bohemia rivers across from where the aberdeen proving ground is. According to my research the only bridges over the river are those of 95 and route 40. So if there is a nestiing territory those may be my first stops to play "seek and find falcons" :-)

GEORGE, THAT'S WONDERFUL NEWS THAT ONE OF MOM'S OFFSPRING COULD BE DOWN THAT WAY! WE WOULD ALL BE FOREVER GREATFUL IF YOU COULD FIND OUT MORE INFO ABOUT ALL OF IT AND EVER IN YOUR DEBT IF YOU GET A PICTURE WITH THE LEG BAND NUMBER

ALSO WANTED TO POST WHAT I SAW IN THE PAPER TODAY:

RECENTLY APPROVED CHANGES IN THE PA'S FALCONRY PERMIT REGULATIONS REQUIRE THAT A SPONSOR FOR A NEW FALCONER BE A GENERAL OR MASTER CLASS FALCONER WITH AT LEAST TWO YEARS OF EXPERIENCE AS A GENERAL CLASS FALCONER. THE REGULATORY CHANGE ALSO EXPANDS THE LIST OF ELIGIBLE SPECIES OF EAGLES THAT A MASTER CLASS FALCONER MAY POSSESS WITH ADDITIONAL WRITTEN AUTHORIZATION TO INCLUDE EAGLES NOT COVERED UNDER THE MIGRATORY BIRD TREATY ACT.

I am hoping that the cam just broke down over the weekend and they will realize and fix it tomorrow.

have not seen NG or Lil Dad this am when i checked in but I may have some good news.

While shooting eagles down at Connowingo yesterday i was talking with another bird photographer and mentioned the RCOB scrape and parking garage for a great view of the scrape.

They informed me that there was another falcon(s) farther down stream that had been banded in Harrisburg. They didnt have any idea of its location, band number or approximate age however which means i may have to go on a falcon safari from Connowingo to Aberdeen Maryland to see if i can find them for us all

That is really cool news, George! It would be awesome to find the location of another falcon nest as the home to one of Mom's and Lil Dad's offspring! I have a feeling some of this group will be doing a bit of detective work. :sfclap:

Don't see anyone this morning, but that doesn't mean they are not there, without the live cam. :-(

UPDATE! Heard from a friend who frequents Havre De Grace who says he saw a falcon on the eastern edge of town near the Concord Point Lighthouse. I surmise that it may be tall enough to set up housekeeping if there is a mate. No confirmation of him seeing a band or any colored tape like Red Girl's in wilmington.

He also says there are some nice tall cliffs by Port Deposit so Can We say ROAD TRIP?

It would be a thrill to confirm that yet another one of our babies is alive and well. Thanks for the info George.

I'm about to cry over this cam. I want the streaming back.

Well, i hope my two reports are true but i have to question the validity of the second one since this person doesnt often seem to know right from left if you get my drift. But, HDG isnt that far south of connowingo so if it warms up some i may detour down there

Thanks Reenie and Susan for the pictures today. George, your news is so great and exciting. It surely is worth an investigation!!! In better weather I say!. LOL Spring may be busier than usual!

Had enough of this very strong wind.

Agreed about having enough of this wind, Faith. It is BRUTAL outside. And George, that's interesting information you shared. I'd guess that the chances of the colored tape still being on the leg band are about ZERO, Red Girl being the exception.

I agree with you on the tape, Jane. I think a few who watch here may have records on band numbers that could be referred to if someone were able to obtain that from the band. I was only ever able to get the band numbers for this past season, so I don't have them but I thought someone did.

I think it would be exciting to find another one of "our babies" with an established nest!

This morning, as I do everytime, I tried the "live cam". Got a picture, but nothing was moving. It even changed views. ?????? Oh well. STill the wind is with us. Two more days they say. Didn't see anyone yet.

Edit: Tried that again with the cam. No go this time!!!!

SO COLD AND WINDY! HAVEN'T SEEN ANYONE YET, BUT THEY COULD BE HANGING OUT ON THE WINDOWSILL AROUND THE CORNER OR ANYWHERE REALLY, TRYING TO STAY OUT THIS WIND.

I REALLY MISS THE LIVE CAM, BUT WITH THEM NOT AROUND AS MUCH, I GUESS IT WOULD JUST WASTE ALOT OF BANDWIDTH ANYWAYS :-(

That camera is a mystery to me. I can still pull up the live camera, but it's still and I have to refresh it a couple of time to get the other view, but the picture is very clear, much better that the regular still cam, but heck it could be pictures from last week for all I know.

Hmm,maybe reenie knows this. Wasnt there a rumor of the powers that be were going to install new camera(s)? If so, have you seen any human activity out on the ledge? Perhaps the early live feed is just a test before they replace the cameras?

Feels like its 15 degrees here and there is still some gusts of wind.

Now if i were NG or Lil Dad, i would try to locate something like a steam vent to perch on ,over or near for some low cost free heating :cold:

I hope this cold weather doesn't prompt Lil Dad to head to his vacation spot. It's cold as heck down here too and the wind chill - :winter2:
