Just got caught up on the last few days. Such good screen captures - thanks all around! It just makes such a difference to have the live cam to capture from.

I hope everyone had a great holiday. I'm glad to hear that someone set the Conowingo kayaker straight; there are just too many people out there who don't even realize there is a code of ethics for birders. I wish that it was publicized more. I know there really are people who don't care about anything but themselves, but I'd like to believe this guy would have been respectful of proper boundaries if he knew how adversely it actually affects the birds and other wildlife to be disturbed by such encroachment on their territory. I know that there are "no boating beyond this point" signs closer to the dam, but I don't remember noticing any signs like that around the island. Then again, I wasn't looking for them. Anyway, I'm glad he was stopped and the numbers are back to normal. And I hope that the ethics were explained to him (strongly) so he doesn't just move to another place to watch!

You know, 2 months ago, I promised to accept NG with an open mind, and I meant it, but it was only because it was a situation I couldn't do anything about anyway. But I have to admit I've sort of fallen in love with her. She is so different from Mom that I don't have to keep thinking about what was; I can just watch and enjoy her. And she is so interesting to watch! Especially now with the live cam running again, it's been so much fun to watch her stomping around the ledge, baffled by that beautiful bird in the window, gleefully chowing down on the bird-du-jour, and getting to know Lil Dad a bit better. And with the better resolution on the live cam, I can really see just how lovely she is!

I know it's counting eggs before they hatch - or are even laid - but I am really looking forward to the spring!

Reenie, good luck tomorrow! Feel like Infinito's for a grand reveal?

Happy December All!

At first it seemed like a mistake to read "this thread has been locked...continue your postings..." But it is that time of the year, I guess. I know having these two to watch will make it all the more fun. They are something to look forward to every day.

Loved that shot yesterday of NG (?) with her tail up the column!

Don't we have the best pigeon wrangler-- who else but Reenie would arrange for a "pigeon Limo" to drive a weakened pigeon away!

LOTS OF RAIN TODAY AND VERY WINDY. CALLING FOR 40 MPH WINDGUSTS. I SEE THE ONE CAM WHERE THEY LIKE TO PERCH IS SHAKING WITH THE WIND. NO FALCONS YET THIS MORNING. HAD TO LAUGH AT THE CROWS THIS MORNING IN THE TREE ACROSS THE STREET. THEY KEPT TRYING TO LAND AND BECAUSE OF THE WIND, THEY WOULD JUST HOVER THERE IN MID AIR, GOING NOWHERE  AT LEAST THEY GAVE ME A LAUGH, I GUESS THEY ARE GOOD FOR SOMETHING!

Love your comment Finchy!!! Of course, they should be thankful for Reenie who knows All about dealing with a pigeon. GREAT JOB REENIE! I agree with WWC about NG. She is so different, and beautiful in her own right. OH my goodness, I hope we don't blow away today! The wind is terrific, I hope the birds fly safely.I see the Cam's shaking. Stay safe everyone. :sfwave:

The sky had been looking brighter here, but now it's coming down in buckets again. Wind is AWFUL. Birds at the feeders here are having a tough time. No falcons in sight every time I've checked in. To get an idea of the wind, look at that white business coming out of the smokestack out beyond the ledge view. Gee, I can still envision White sitting on top of that thing in June. Ah, memories.

NEW GIRL JUST CAME FLYING IN FROM THE TRAIN STATION DIRECTION AND LANDED ON THE TOP OF THE GLASS ENCLOSURE. IT WAS FUN SEEING HER TRY TO FIGHT THE WIND TO GET UP THERE

Haven't seen anybody today. Sorry I missed Little Dad on the stick. I bet it is hard for them to fly in such wind. I've watched the facons at De Mortel try to land at the tower when it was incredibly windy and they couldn't do it sometimes, especially if they had prey. NG doesn't seem all that coordinated to me on a good day. Bless her heart, maybe she should just sit somewhere today. I'm always so afraid those gusts might grab them and throw them against a building or something.

The turkey vultures around here seem to really be enjoying the windy day though.

Well, I thought it was NG over there by the column. Guess I missed the actual eating. She kept looking over her shoulder, and wondered if Lil Dad was on the point out of cam view. Whatever, she took off with the remains.

Here is one of the pictures sent, having trouble with PB, will posts others in time. Feathers flying. I thought it was NG too, but just because she always eats there it seems, but they did wait like Lil Dad would to give NG some. :-?

I missed the takeoff.
