Is this our new girl?

Image

Update: It is our new girl! When the cam switches back and forth, she's still on the stick and Lil Dad is in the nest box.

ljames - You hit the jackpot this morning with the picture of both in the nest box!

Carly - Your Angel must be really beautiful with that salmon coloring! I'm wondering now if our new girl in Harrisburg might be from a wild nest in Canada. It's too bad she doesn't have any bands for ID.

WELL I GUESS LIL DAD ACHIEVED HIS GOAL AND GOT HER IN THE NEST BOX AFTER OVER 1 1/2 HOURS! HE'S GONE NOW, SHE MIGHT BE TOO, DIDN'T GET THAT VIEW BACK YET.

ALSO, WE WERE TOLD SHE IS A SUB-ADULT, PROBABLY BORN IN 2009. HOPEFULLY WE WILL HAVE COMFIRMATION OF THIS WHEN THEY POST THE FALCONWIRE.

You know, I'm surprised that an unbanded young falcon has shown up here really. I mean she acts as though she is really comfortable, having come from a wild nest. I wonder if there are falcons born to nests on structures that are not banded.

I WOULD THINK SHE COULD HAVE COME FROM ANYWHERE BEING UNBANDED. IF THERE'S A CLIFF OR STRUCTURE WHERE SOMEONE DIDN'T KNOW ABOUT A NEST, THEY WOULDN'T GET BANDED. THAT'S WHAT MAKES THIS SUCH A MYSTERY AS TO WHERE SHE CAME FROM, COULD BE ANYWHERE! AND SHE DOES SEEM TO BE GETTING MORE AND MORE COMFORTABLE.

I know Trooper was unbanded and it took him forever to even land on the ledge, much less go into the scrape.

Maybe she met Little Dad down by the river and followed him back. :-)
