November 4th Update from Robyn:

Hello Ladies,

The fledglings have flown the nest!

It’s been a hectic five days – on an emotional see-saw!

We had the guy from Australia Zoo come to visit and he’s been photographing ‘our’ falcons for two years from the street level, so was absolutely rapt to be invited up to our kitchen.

We thought we had one female and two males on their sizing, and Matt confirmed this would be probably right.

The two boys spent all weekend flying down to our lower balcony and up again, then Sunday one just ‘flew away’ while I was watching! To a building approx 700m away.

Next morning they were all back.

Tuesday morning both boys were gone. Only the female left.

This morning only Emily and Frederick were looking at us.

Emily has become really neurotic - Obviously she doesn’t have enough to do now and so she’s focussed on US! Being quite aggressive through the window, so I’m talking soothingly to her ;-)

I’ll get some pics to you of the kids just before they left home.

So, we can only hope they are all well and surviving.

Cheers

Robyn

This is very bittersweet to hear, but so is the life of a Falcon
I can't wait to see the pictures. Thank you for keeping us in the loop Susan :dancing3:

How interesting that the falcons had been there for 2 years! They must have had a different nest site somewhere on the building & only this season decided on Robyn's windowbox.

 I was thinking the same thing, then I remembered something, tried it and confirmed: If you are viewing the forum with I.E., some smilies move slower than if viewing with Firefox. Your turkey smilie is one of them. Reenie's signature flying birds really ZOOM with FF and are slower in IE. Weird.

OH my...you are so right!!! last night I was viewing the forum using FF....right now I'm on IE...what a difference...but strange...Better stick with IE when I know "that turkey" is on the page!!!! (it was driving me crazy...and I considered getting rid of it!!!) Good detective work!!!
