This time Spirit did not tell her to move, but since she was about to lay egg #2 maybe she did not feel like fighting...!

I hate to say this but they need to chase Polly away. At Edmonton one year we had 2 females ,but they were sisters and the male fed them both (he was the son of one , I believe). but that was a male.

this being a female, she could be trouble. she is bigger than dad so mom has to be very tough but when they are in egg laying state they are a little weaker.

Thanks for the videos, Wizzz. I saw the first part & couldn't believe that Polly was being such a bully! She doesn't know how lucky she is! Sure glad she left when she did so Spirit could lay her egg... :cloudnine:

Wizzz, another insightful video of Polly who seems to me like a 30-yr-old kid living at home and taking over. Bigger and stronger than her parents and pushing them at her will. I really feel badly for all involved. I hope they can work it out for the benefit of these young ones coming . . . Otherwise, how can the parents raise the little ones?

I haven't seen Polly today on the cam, that's a good thing I guess!! Roger has been on the eggs a lot today so far - more than Spirit. Here are 2 photos that can be useful when you're not sure who you're looking at :

Besides the obvious size difference, you can see the pattern difference in their face mask :

Roger's white is more like a closed defined hart shape, while Spirit's is less defined. Also the white is much further from her eye than Roger's.

These are great comparisons, Wizzz, for helping us differentiate who is who. I watched a bit today and did not see Polly and was glad about that. I don't mean to sound like I dislike her, just don't want her disrupting the progress of the nest and incubation.

Yeah that's Spirit right after she laid that 3rd egg, she was
too tired I think but it did not take long and she tucked it in ! :-)
