Just checked in hoping to catch a feeding, but they are all piled up in the back of the box.

I did watch a feeding this morning but pictures are blurry. Maybe it was Perkeo feeding because he was moving all over the box with that prey. And chicks, especially the girl right on his tail.

Well you can see how big they are getting anyway.

Back from a six-day-trip to Paris, France, I am happy to see that the four have grown fast, walk around, flap their wings, try to feed themselves from debris and the first can be seen raising its head to look outside! :-)

Thanks for the beautiful pictures. I check in here every day and catch some feedings as well, but my pictures don't even come close to what you post. :?
They all look well, I think.

Hope you enjoyed your trip to Paris. Haven't been there in many years, but have a visit scheduled for this summer, but we fly into London first and I am concerned that volcano might be a problem.

Pictures are not that good, still you can get an idea of their growth and cuteness.

Half an hour ago I cleaned the glass in front of the camera! :?
Technicians tell me the more people click on these cams the server reduces the quality or so...
Greetings from warm & sunny Heidelberg! :-)

YES!! YOU ARE right! TWO ARE GONE!

Up and away!

This morning around 10.40 a.m local time the first two tiercels started from Holy -Spirit-Church- spire!

JETTA & PERKEO had circled long time the spire in the height of the nesting-box - not feeding of course! - and there was a lot of screaming of the hungry four. So people living near-by phoned me in the morning to come and I could watch a "classic" encouragement by the parents!

I watched from 10.30-12.00 from the market-place below with my glasses plus telescope, so many people - even tourists from U.S.A - asked me what I was looking at etc. pp. So missed the lift-off of the first and rushed into the nearby city-hall where a monitor stands to verify the start of the first. Nobody watched the start of the second falcon. We noticed it half an hour later by controlling via cameras in the foyer of city-hall.

Around 11.40 I saw suddenly two falcons flying around the spire with a PERKEO still sitting on the very top of the Church´s tower. Always alarmed by the heart-breaking screaming of the two remaining falcon! Some minutes after we watched JETTA and this third falcon again circling the church and one falcon landed clumsily at a place I had never seen before an adult falcon landing, so it must have been the young one.
Later a young one tried to land again on the bar in front of the nesting-box, but it did not succeed: One of the two remaining falcons in the nesting-box-entrance aggressively jumped in his direction, so it flew away.
Now I have to wait to get phone calls about the locations where the airborne young falcons linger.
:-)

Hans Martin, thanks for your great report. How nice that you have spotters that call when the action starts! It sounds like it was very exciting. Hopefully all those people you educated will continue to watch and report!

Great news that two have had a successful fledge. I see three in the box today, one standing in the doorway, one lying in the doorway, and one eating away in the back, so I guess they can get back too, well at least one of them. Now one has moved back to the rail. I am so happy they all appear to be fine, I was always a little worried, as I often am, about the smallest. :-)

Yes, yesterday afternoon we were quite astonished to see again THREE young falcons ! :o One falcon, which had gone on Monday morning, had come back! It stayed until night...
It is the first time in 10 years here that a young falcon came back to the nesting-box!
This morning at 7.26 local time the third falcon flew away. Now only one "Benjamin" is resting in the entrance of the nesting-box. I think all four will be away from the cams tomorrow... But perhaps they are going to pay a visit again to their old home?
HM
