No kidding, I was wondering if it might even be different parents, the first one saying 'I've had enough, it's your turn'.

He was feeding himself a little earlier when I tuned in, too! First he was doing a lot of screaming, then he got quiet & here he was snacking on something in the box!

He is being fed right now.

Good grief, he just started pecking dad on the shoulder/top of wing, so dad left, but the prey remains in the box for a later snack.

Thanks ljames. :loveshow:

I think he is so hungry when dad comes in that he gets a bit rambunctious.

I really appreciate the photo as I am not here much the next few days .

Today, the five ringed falcons. It is a metal ring around their leg confirmed that
a unique code and the abbreviated address of the Ring Center of the Institute
of Natural Sciences are.
The diameter of the ring is adjusted to the circumference of the leg of each type
and the ring with a special tool attached. The falcons were beside the metal ring
from half ring on their left leg, a yellow plastic. In the Institute since 1996,
we study the demographics of the Peregrine Falcons returning to Belgium.
We want to know where the young falcons from Belgium to settle for a nest.
The yellow ring is engraved with a simple code, with a telescope or a camera to
zoom in, we can read that code. This system increases our chances to find a
ringed falcons. It is true that we are the source of the male and female Bosvoorde
Strépy found out. So why are the Falcons 'double' ringed.
During the rings, the falcons also weighed and measured. Thus we can determine
sex of chicks. Result: 3 males and 2 females. The last baby born is a female and
her 550 grams finds them in prime condition. The three males weigh respectively
686, 663 and 621 grams. And the other female weighs 797 grams! The
falcons also underwent a quick medical check and a small sample of the springs was taken to
a DNA database. This genetic "file cabinet" is prepared in cooperation with the
Belgian section of the CITES (Convention on International Trade in Endangered
Species of Wild Fauna and Flora), the federal police and the regional authorities.
The entire operation clocked off at less than half hour.
