Ooooh ... here's the banding news released just now on the Alcoa website:

Thursday October 22, 2009
Our three chicks are growing up fast and beginning to move around the nest box.

Next Thursday is banding day. Between 9 - 10AM Australian EDST researchers from the Victorian Peregrine Project will travel up to the nest box to retrieve the chicks for their health assessment and banding.

Each year we have a tradition to name the new falcon chicks. Now that our birds have gone global, we're asking those watching over the world wide web for nominations. If you would like to nominate a name, please email us with your nomination, whether it is suitable for a male or female and what the name means to you.

that would be yr next Wednesday night Oct 28th I think :crazygirll:

Well, it sounds as though Elise is pretty confident about submitting "Froona" so we shouldn't have to worry too much about that - but now I am starting to think of a great name for a boy - mmmm ... I'll have to do a bit of research.

And if there is another girl ... mmmm ... how about "IRIS" - Egyptian goddess of the Rainbow :rainbow That would also be nice as Froona always liked to refer to the Egyptian worship of the Peregrine Falcon.

Well, after surviving the foot doctor this morning and being told everything is AOK with the tendong grafting to its new location and my cast will come off next wedensday compounded with watching the Phillies beat the Los Angeles Dodgers for the National League championship while still keeping an eye on our triplets i am going to call it a night.

I cant wait to see the fun they have banding the trio next week too so ill have enough toothpicks on hand to prop open my eyelids just in case.

I really need my beauty sleep even though it never seems to be enough yet i keep trying

:offtobed: NYTOL! :hithere: :zzzzz :zzzzz
