At least we know they are in good hands Bev and they will be well taken care of which is more than we usually know once they fledge. Gord is a great guy for trying to do all of this. :thumbegg:

And kudos to you for helping him in anyway you can, you make a good team :eastergirl:

I agree - Bev and Gord make a great team!

I think the chicks enjoyed their time in the nest box, and we sure enjoyed seeing them there. They will be missed :-( , but they're in great hands.

Well, this is bittersweet. Hugs to you, bev, as Beth posted. And for the record, I like corny, too.

Rest your eyes, but I hope to see you at some of the other Canadian nests and Columbus too.

I am just so shocked that there was not even one move to come here by parents. Well that first brief stop, but none after that

I know, how could you resist those faces :loveshow: Maybe given how confused things are out there - it's for the best. If you're still seeing 3 adults then maybe for these guys safety it's better the adults sort out their soap opera first.

I wonder what will happen next year - will TR dad be late again? Will they nix the box again due to humans? Will they try for the vents again? Stay tuned next year for 'As the Falcon Turns'!

Soooo clever Carly - I could actually hear the "Days of our Lives" music in the background as I read that

And yes this has been fascinating to follow - thank you so much Bev for making it available for us all to share - nothing like this would ever occur in Australia - your American peregrines sure are cared for :hearts: And I am sure those 3 eyases will fly free & high wherever they go ...

I'm so sorry this didn't work out for you Bev, but how cool that they would give it a try. They will be no worse off, I'm sure. Based on this visit from dad, I would say they were around and just not inclined to take on the kids. Its probably a lot easier when there are already some chicks to throw in with the bunch.

That little stinker. He was probably looking for left-overs. Hey maybe they will lay another clutch of eggs -- in the nest.

I received a report from Gord.

It was 30 years ago today that they started fostering chicks and this is the first failure.

So they must have been some stressed. they were several scrapes under those vents and he said it is so poor because e the wind blows 60 km an hour all day long. I t does not appear they have been incubated by the adults . so they are in an incuabator right now and will be assessed. Woul dit not be nice if at least one hatched

the falcons tried this once before in the 1990's and failed and then the nest box was put up and they have been using it ever since. Cannot figure out why they would do this unless the earlier male lured her under there.

they cannot do anything to prevent them from nesting under there. Hopefully, they will not next year.

The 3 chicks are back at the breeders.

Gord wants to thank everyone who helped monitor the situation.
