I also got a pop-up with a warning when I clicked on the thumbnail. Something about a virus that was replicating itself and did I want to run a scan -- click OK. NO WAY! I didn't even click on the red X, just shut down IE via the Task Manager.
I believe if you click the OK button you will be downloading the virus, so be careful everyone.
Another example of bad/infected advertising from adservers. I don't see them because I use Firefox with Adblock plus.
Code:
http://ads.adbrite.com/mb/text_group.php?sid=1366226&br=1
http://ads.clicksor.com/showAd.php?nid=1&pid=118879&adtype=&sid=178400
http://ads.clicksor.com/showAd.php?nid=1&pid=118879&adtype=5&sid=178400&zone=6369
These are url's that put those ads on the site of Upmyphoto. Such adservers provide advertising for many websites. This is similar to what is (was) happening at Photobucket.
Forumup, where I have my forum, has changed photo-uploader services because the previous ones put infected or adult ads onto the forum and/or picture pages.
It's a worldwide problem, and is happening more lately.
Never click on the pop-up window, use the taskmanager to close the browser. If you use a good firewall (Sunbelt, Kaspersky, Vipre) you can add these bad ad-servers to a blocklist too, that will help when you keep using IE as a browser. Or start using Firefox with the adblocker as an add-on.
