Princess has returned from migration, but Trey is yet to come home. In 2008 he returned on March 31st, so hopefully he will show up soon.

I hope I have this information correct: Reports are that Trey has not returned, but Ivy (son of Princess & Trey) has. Ivy seems to have taken over the male role at this nest . . . mating with Princess, and eggs are expected soon. Also, there are indications that they will nest at the west location which is the safer of the two.

Lots of changes this year. We were all hoping for Trey to return. that is not saying that something is wrong. He could just be taking a year off. they sometimes do

Tracy is ever the professional, but she has such a connection to this guy and like all of us , will miss his antics this year.
Ivy seems to be a bit more timid.

I guess what this also tells us is the young are surviving and passing on the genes of their predecessors and that is good.

WOW...that is actually sad news...I know how attached to Trey Tracy is..Thanks for the news. The changes just keep a coming. Well, we certainly can relate as we watch a new male at Columbus and a new pair at Rochester (to name a few)

..I keep checking the cam, hoping it will be live...soon, I hope...

'Ivy' is a male? And the son of Princess? Boy we are seeing a bit of everything this year. But when the cam starts rolling, I'll be watching.

I'm just not sure that when a mate doesn't return it necessarily means they have met with tragedy. So many things that the experts say just doesn't always pan out as far as I can see by just watching the nests. Last year was the first year I watched this nest and Trey was a good mate and provider. He could still turn up, but if not, I hope he found another home.

Exactly my sentiments. He has skipped a season before and I always like to think in the positive mode.
EVeryone thought that Handsome at buffalo had succumbed when he did not return the season before last.
they did find him last season and unfortunately he died from injuries, but my point is, the season he did not return , he was somewhere else ,obviously. He was also 18, I believe , when he died. Great falcon :girlluv:

There is an article in the Winnipeg Free Press here with some nice pictures. Thankfully, the falcon pair chose the safer West side nest box on the Radisson Hotel this year.

Here is a link to Tracy's picture of Ivy on the 4 eggs: .

Oh my word. Look at that nest. I wasn't expecting that. Totally different from the other one.
This should be interesting, just as long as nobody poops on the camera.

Regarding the different cam view . . . I'm glad the falcons chose the safer nest, but I will miss watching the traffic and pedestrians . . .

Wow! This has to be a significant improvement. Look how protected it is. So glad the falcons chose this one.
