It could be anything. We'll just have to wait and see what we can see and tell somebody if needed.

Maybe it could be the newness or inexperience from standing on her toes. She's been doing that most of today.

catwoman, that is a wonderful screen capture. I was recording when that happened so I'm going to try to knit it into the next video, which better be soon, seeing as how fast they are growing.

Wouldn't we just love to name the male?

You can't take your eyes off this crowd for a minute or they will sneak a snack in. They just had a quick bite but I've somehow managed to lose the picture.

This is afterwards.

Are they not too cute?

Thanks for the great coverage, pics, and video!!!! Dot is just too funny....I loved how she jumped right in there in your video, Mick...lined right up there with the kids, then stepped all over everybody trying to get to Dad and that Teeny-weeny-little morsel..(and yes Mick...let's name the male!!!)

I swear, after reading about the limping baby, I sat here and stared at them for probably 15 or 20 minutes and finally had to give up, because everybody looked like they were limping...geeeeeeeeeez..

Did the same MA! One thing for sure, Dot is teaching them to vocalize!

One of my friends went to Dot's banding and emailed me her impressions. The male is big, almost as big as Dot. Dot and the male were pretty subdued during the banding, some circling and vocalizations. (Also that there are many trees around - close to the Mississippi, and lots of perches and ledges around the nest box.)
Maybe that will help us to think up a name.

Is this the same male as before (when the female disappeared)? I was sure it was the same male, but others on this Forum are not so sure, so it would be nice to know, or get a consensus. My avatar is "Old Dad" (and may be "New Dad").

Hi Elaine. Brenda, who oversees the peregrine program at GRE, opinion is it is the same male.
She told me she has the cam on all day at work. What a great job.

Your avatar picture is beautiful.

Hi Elaine! My opinion is that the male is a different one from original dad. I think he looks quite different.

It will be interesting to see who shows up her next year after migration!

Another meal brought in.

Boy they are acting like they are starving but I watched them get a good meal not very long ago and they were full.

Prior to her bringing the food in I saw a falcon land on the top of the nestbox, then I saw something drop like a big rock right down the side of the box. Wonder if it was a parent diving for prey?

Thanks for the video kittenface. They are adorable. Right now, they are all piled up in the cam corner and they look wet . Dot is sitting out in the rain.

Thanks for the video & the banding write-up, Kitten. It would be interesting to know if they found her body, because they might well just be assuming that since she disappeared while there were eggs in the nest, she must not have been alive. Who knows, if she is alive, Dad may have found her & they might have gone somewhere else & re-nested. That's why I said it would be interesting to see who claims the box after migration next year.

Interesting how they all yell while Dot is feeding one, but they wait for her to get to them! I can't believe how big that one girl is--looks like as big as Dot!

Dot leaving with the leftovers. I tell ya, Dot has given 100% to raising these babies. Look at that sweetie in the corner with it's head turned. They are all just preening, flapping, and looking around, as they do when they are full and content.
