My 11-year-old granddaughter was sitting in front of the computer while I was sweeping & all of a sudden she said, "come here & look at this grandma"! I came over to the computer & she said I missed what she wanted to show me. She said there were mice running behind the box. I asked her where she saw them & she pointed to the road. Just then a car came by & she said, "there goes one now". I had to tell her that it was a highway & those were cars! :laugh2

That is so cute the firswt time I got a glimpse over at the highway I thought it was bugs
I'll tell you the kids try and catch things for us don't they, they are going to be the the next generation of watchers and hopefully we will show/teach them, but they might be luckier than us and see them all over and in person

Dot fed these two. Then they did some flapping about, but the wind is mighty strong. I hope the other 2 are somewhere safe. Worry, Worry.

Edit:

So funny catwoman, kids say the funniest things. They work with the information they have and understand at the time.

I love the story about your grand daughter catwoman. A future BCAW member, I hope?

In your video sgb, the male has such confidence running back and forth along the perch!

I have to say, it seems like the 4th has fledged. The breakfast this a.m. was noisy and the 4th would have come a running. It seems to me it's one of the females? Help me out here. As soon as the 4th left, I was no longer who was who! (except for the smallest male)

Thanks for the screen caps and video. I have been unable to get a smooth stream today. It has to go through Quicktime and for some reason it's stuttering.

I saw someone fly past here cause I had some warning by one on the perch watching something. It was flying lower than the nestbox, so I don't think it was a parent. Maybe there was a fledge! :suncon:

Oh my, the little alarm caller is there closeby calling away. Earlier, the two in the box were looking down alot and I could hear crying from below, but the alarm caller doesn't sound like below. The two left were bobbing their heads so much I thought they would fall off. :sunno: Dot I think is sitting on the perch and the two girls ( I assume) are in the box listening. Did we decide the girls were the ones still there?

Catwoman, I did see the low flyby right around the time you posted and wondered too if it could be a juvie. I see there is a nasty storm brewing. I hope the little juvies outside will be ok.

Oh gosh, there goes Dot after something. She is carrying on too. Wonder what's up?? It's kinda late for this much drama.

Well, I came in to look at the cam because I heard a juvie alarm-calling, & it still is doing that. There is a parent & 2 kids at the box, but this is one who is obviously nearby but not in the box. It is lightning like crazy! I'm thinking the kid is on the roof cause he sounds very close. (Actually, it sounds like that juvie may be flying around some.)

Yeah, maybe the juvie took off and Dot didn't like that at all. I don't know.

Watching too. Dot seems pretty agitated. Maybe she knows a storm is brewing.

OK somebody alarm calling just came back and appeared to land just out of camera view on the perch. Is it possible a juvie could have had such a good landing? I hope so, of course it could be Dot. Alarm calling again.
