On Rose's picture, is that another bird on the corner of the roof?

That's the nest ledge, and I think what you've arrowed is probably the ledge cam housing . . . ?

Now that is assuming that rosekk is facing the south side of Rhodes Tower ! ha ha! I could be all wrong!

Edit: I think I'm wrong about the side of the building this was taken from, so I believe SGB's arrow is probably the 2nd falcon.

OK, you have all been fooled just like I was when I first started watching this building - the one on the top of the building is not a bird but some kind of light or other structure. It sure looks like a bird though - believe me, I think I was even taking pictures of it - ROFL

The one circled in the middle I think is a falcon as is the one to the left of it.

You're kidding...the "one" on the roof looks more like a bird than the other two...

I was going to say "boy, do I need help, because I didn't even notice anything on the roof. I was looking at the 2 circled ones on ledges", but I guess I wasn't so far off anyway! :laugh2 Thanks, Rosekk!

Ah, it does my heart good to see how much time Durand and Matrix have been spending together in the nest box. Thanks to everyone for the wonderful captures and videos!

Durand at dawn

Little photo-youtube:

She came from out of the blue, I believe she must have slept at the inner side of the ledge.
near the nestbox.

Durand left at 6:33 AM local time, while the weather was more and more bad, it became very dark again outside.

Maybe it's one of those plastic owls.. They have them all over here to try to deter the pigeons. Last year one of the boys landed right on top of one and perched there! They don't deter the pigeons either, they sit right next to them

I totally know about those owls; I remember a few years ago, I was walking all over downtown looking for juvies, I spotted an owl on the top of a building. I was so excited to see an owl downtown so I took pictures of it. What did I know, I was a newbie birder. then I saw another one on the other corner of the building and it was then that I discovered that it was actually a concrete owl - ROFL!! That is funny that the pigeons would sit next to them. It's the same with the silly recording of the falcons, it gets me every time too but I don't think that it fools the pigeons.

Just had to comment on the "THREE" falcons in Mary's picture. I also thought the thing on the roof was a falcon. I've been part of the Harrisburg watch crew for years, and have looked at some of the same things over and over again, and they still aren't birds! I have kind of memorized where the fake owls are located, though. :-)

The one-year anniversary of Scout’s senseless death prompted me last week to revive/renew my inquiry for an update with several agencies involved in the investigation. Last November, they reported the matter was still under investigation, but the latest update is posted below with permission:

The individuals responsible for the death of the peregrine falcon were identified and interviewed. This information was then relayed to the Franklin County Prosecutors office and they chose not to file charges due to the circumstances the individuals were faced with at the time of the incident.

If you would like to discuss this issue further, please feel free to contact me at the below number.

Thank you for your concern,
