Way to go Ingrid! I can't even catch a glimpse of the chicks yet.

Can't check the live cam from where I'm at, but that really looks like a new eggshell in there! I don't see it (or see it as good) in the latest still image, but Athena probably had eaten most or all of it by now.

Yay, Mike! I thought I saw her eating parts of an eggshell earlier. I have the cam up, but I've been doing other things and only checking occasionally.

WOW, well there we go!! Gotta admit, I'm surprised that 4th egg hatched, being 2 days past due. Keeping fingers and toes crossed that the little one catches up to it's siblings quick!!

Looks like Six is trying to cover the eggs, but it could be Athena. She had an extremely difficult time. They are big or our one escapee continues to escape.

Carly just reported under "Breaking News" that it was reported on the Rochester Forum that the smallest baby has died...

I am so, so sorry... :cryinggirl:

I heard about some observations from yesterday that indicated as such, and that Athena had removed the body from the scrape. Tough break

Thanks....yes Athena and Six will still have their talons full with the triplets. Here's to hoping they all go the distance this season!

We are pretty certain there are only three. Still unsure.

Was lucky. just caught a feeding. There are three eyasses. The little one was at first stuck between the other two, but managed to get his head up. Athena was fabulous -- at least 70 per cent of the bites went to the little one at first. Quite a few got dropped. By the time I left (feeding still going on) the littlest one had pancacked a bit I hope from having had enough and the others are getting their share.

I just watched a feeding and it seemed disturbing to me. The little one, of three, wiggled like crazy, but couldn't seem to get it's head up. I thought the other one was sitting on it at first, but I don't think so. Anybody else watching? Sorry I'm not that familiar with the nest so shouldn't jump to conclusions, I guess.
