Thanks for the info MA. Over the years I've only seen one falcon fledgling in Wilmington as late as the first week in August, although he/she was screaming/whining/begging away (with no visible effect on the parent birds).

I think Renee must be sleeping in this morning. Either that or she's forgotten about the falcons. haha

Here is what I just posted on my blog...

Wow! A lot of really good action early this morning!!! When I first got there around 5:15 the kids were chasing each other and continued to do so for at least five minutes. After a while an adult came in with food and there was a lot of screaming. I thought there was a food handoff but I didn't see either of the kids with food after that so I think the adult either recovered it after someone dropped it or didn't give it to them. The adult flew east toward the 1201 building. Of course there wasn't enough light for pictures but I took some anyway. I'll post some later.

After a while one of the kids started chasing a Chimney Swift and then both kids were chasing it doing all kinds of cool twists and turns while flying unbelievably fast! They flew down really low right in front of me two times!!! What a treat watching them flying so well! I sure wish they would do it when there was more light for pictures though.

They were chasing each other again later but they were too far away. After 30 minutes or so, one of the kids flew by towards the 1201 building and then there was some screaming and I think there must have been a food handoff because when the kid flew back this way he had food. RG also flew back and landed on her perch on top of the Brandywine Building.

Unfortunately I had to leave to come to work but what a great way to start the day! :)

One of the Boy's in the nest box when I signed on just now! What a treat, and what a treat with your wonderful detailed report this morning Kim. It must be a day for bird sightings. Had a unusual thing..... a flicker eating ants at the sidewalk. Always a good day watching nature.

Well now after reading Kim's account of RG, maybe it wasn't one of the boy's? The breast looked very striped though.

Wow Kim, what great action you saw this morning. Thanks so much for the detailed report. Our lone male juvie is still hanging around in Harrisburg, but it's getting harder and harder to spot him. Last year's White Boy showed up in mid August after almost a month's absence. Our beloved Mom made a food drop for him over above the train station. That may have been the last time I saw her. Sorry, it's still hard for me to let go of her.

Kim - Thanks for the great early morning report. Sometimes I think the kids know that you're there watching, so they put on a show just for you!

Cute parakeets. Don't let them outside in downtown Harrisburg or Wilmington.

Awwwwwwwww, so sweet! :)

Greybird just told me that one of her ornery birds is wolf-whistling and blowing kisses to some workers out back! I guess she learned that from Greybird! LOL!!!

I don't even have a good reply...except it really is funny to watch these workers. I think they are looking round hoping for a hottie:)

This bird does this stuff too often for it to be a coincidence. It proves to me that birds have a sense of humor.

Have a happy weekend everyone!

What the heck is this bird? I think the bill is bigger than RB's! Is it a baby duck maybe? :(

Your birds definitely have a sense of humor! Especially the wolf-whistler! :)

I was thinking last night that that night was probably the last time I saw Mom, too, & if memory serves me, I would have missed it if you hadn't gotten my attention, Jane! I was looking off the other direction.

What an exciting morning for you Kim! Of course, anyone who gets up that early & is down there watching deserves a nice reward for their efforts. I was thinking, "Reenie, forget falcons"? I would think she was quite ill if she did that.

Your babies are adorable Reenie!

That's too funny: One of Reenie's cute parakeets barks like a dog and one of Greybird's birds wolf-whistles at strangers!

Kim - Great shot of Red Boy with still-to-be-identified big-beaked bird! Did our boy actually catch it by himself?

Wow, Kim. What an awesome picture of Red Boy with what looks like it might be a young Mallard. And Greybird, your parrot story is SO funny. Having some computer problems here, but can still access the web cams and forums, fortunately.
