Here is the news today from the people at Great River Station:

"This is a new pair to our nesting box. The male falcon’s name is Sawatzke. He was banded at the Monticello Nuclear Generating Plant near Monticello, Minn. in 2009. The female falcon is unbanded."

Thank you so much, Elaine. According to the Midwest Peregrine Falcon database, Sawatzke's bands are: b/g H/34 Left.

According to the Manitoba Falcon Cam Forum, a second egg appeared here at 9:48 this morning. Good for you, Mrs. Sawatzke!

They changed the camera zoom to close-up here, and you cannot possibly miss a thing. Right now, Sawatzke is on the eggs, and doing a fair bit of panting. You can pretty well see every expression on his face. It is so nice that here, everything seems to be going well, especially considering the upheavals elsewhere in the falcon world.

They must have made that change this afternoon. I had checked earlier today and it hadn't been zoomed then. Thanks for the heads-up, Elaine.
