It appears that 3 out of 3 of NG's boys are naturally skilled flyers. :egg5:

Too bad there won't be any more. :egg15:

They will probably spend more time flying after today since its supposed to cool down. They're hot enough just chillin' on the ledge, let alone flying around!

What wonderful news to hear that Red Boy has flown and managed to get back to the ledge. :hapdance:

NG would be so proud. Lil' Dad has great skill at parenting and teaching. Both boys are taking a break at the post and Lil' Dad on the cam.

Just read back. Thanks for the nice reports Jane and Sue and SusanE for all the pictures. Lil' Dad knows that he can leave for a while to go courting as he has all of you guys to babysit the kids. :egg6:

Just a question: Why does the cam seem to be speeding along some times? I noticed it this weekend off and on, plus just now. Once was in IE, and just now in Firefox. I was laughing at watching the cars speed along the street, and if a bus really took a corner that fast, it would have ended up on it's side. LOL.

I was just thinking of fledge watchers on the street, waiting for some action and being disappointed for the most part. It is really unusual to have had the fledglings do so well and have had so few "rescues." These two are a bit "precocious" I suspect. They sure aren't letting Dad off the hook for providing food, and I hope he isn't too busy to tend to his primary business! Thanks for all the good pictures and descriptions!

Well, it looks like I missed a very busy early morning. So glad the boys are doing well. I hope to see them. Just had to take time in the yard this morning, being up at 5:30 and working until 8:30. So I was up with the birds today! Typing this on the back porch and so far the temps are decent. But, see the Boys asleep by the orange pole. Poor things, don't have much shade there right now. Nice to know they can leave and come back now. Love the stories about Lil Dad's courtship!!

Jane and Sue, Thanks so much for the reports. Was wondering about the storms last night. That sky was wicked looking. We never got anything this time. In Washington D.C. the Memorial Program was cancelled in the middle of it, by the Police announcing that there were bad storms in the area. So the TV was switched to last years Program.

By chance one day This April 2012, was told to check on baby falcons hatching .... That was NG ... And have been watching and following your board minute by minute ever since ... Learned so much thanks to all of you sharing your realtime experience and longtime knowledge. Many thanks. NG was my introduction and now well I'm invested. Very observant, Normangelo! I suspect falcon watch won't go on for as long this year since these boys are doing so well. Sue will make the call but I know she was already impressed with Blue's skills. She will probably want to observe Red flying some more.

Lil Dad is playing a major part (as he should) in their training. Saturday he knew that Blue wanted to get back to the nest ledge so he flew up to him on the roof of the Carson building, stayed only briefly, then flew back to the nest ledge. I'm sure he was showing Blue "this is how you do it". It was maybe 10 minutes later that Blue did the same thing as Lil Dad, although he miscalculated a bit the first time, then made a perfect landing on the second try!

WELL WELL WE WERE SITTING HERE WAITING FOR LIL DAD TO RETURN AND A FEMALE FLEW OVER THE BLDG FLYING ALL AROUND VERY HIGH UP AND DOWN BY PA PLACE AND BACK TOWARDS THE LEDGE AND OVER THE BLDG, ALL THE SUDDEN WE HEARD LIL DAD ON THE END OF THE LEDGE EECHUPPING. SOME THOUGHT THE ONE WE WERE WATCHING WAS LIL DAD AT FIRST, SOME THOUGHT IT LOOKED TO BIG. ANYWAYS, SHE FLEW OUT OVER 5TH ST GARAGE AND LIL DAD FOLLOWED HER. HE WAS TRYING TO GET HER TO THE LEDGE.
